My name is Rachel Palermo. l am a Licensed Clinical Social Work in Louisiana and North Carolina. I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Memphis. With over three years of clinical experience, I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings with children and adults. My approach to counseling is much like a fellow traveler, meeting a client where they are on their journey. My sense of curiosity helps me highlight client strengths which will become the building blocks in the healing process. I love to acquire information from various evidenced-based approaches to support clients with re-establishing a sense of safety in themselves and with others. I believe mental and physical health are interdependent of each other and find working with the mind and body using mindfulness techniques helps clients gain a sense of control during times of stress. I uses a trauma informed lens which creates safety, choice, collaboration, and empowerment for my clients. I enjoys introducing clients to coping strategies that increase resilience and promotes empowerment. I believe that when a non-judgmental and compassionate space is created, healing is possible.
