Rhiannon Dean

About Me

Hello! My name is Rhiannon Dean and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) based out of Connecticut. I was fortunate enough to locate a career and foundation which allows me to help motivate and encourage others to create change, find their best selves and assist others in the same process. The framework I use to view people is unique in the fact I believe every person is the driver of their life, helping professional's may have different maps or routes to use to navigate, yet you know the ultimate destination. Every person's life story is unique, as is their environment, and when we examine the two together, we're able to more accurately create sustained change. I can provide both skills based, and processing therapies to help create a well-balanced approach to creating change. I look forward to collaborating with anyone who is looking for more support along their journey and provide some of my background below.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a minor in leadership studies and graduate certificate in juvenile justice and human rights from the University of Saint Joseph in May 2013. I was accepted into an advanced degree program at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work and obtained my Master of Social Work with a concentration of casework and focus area of mental health and substance abuse in May 2014.
I have also been fortunate in my career and have been extended opportunities in different clinical roles. My first experience out of graduate school was as an outpatient clinician in an urban inner-city environment assisting a population who ranged from child to older adult. I then transitioned to a position on an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) where I assisted people who suffered from severe and persistent mental illness within the community. Since my time with ACTT, I have recently transitioned to a career as a psychiatric inpatient clinician. This unique experience allows me to connect with patients during the acute crisis they face and prepare them to transition back home with supports to conquer their barriers.
