My name is Samantha Acosta I am a Licensed independent Mental Health Practitioner(LIMHP) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist(LMFT) in the state of Nebraska, and a LMFT in the state of Utah. I started my practice in a community mental health agency in the state of Utah gaining perspective and understanding of how poverty, addiction and Trauma, can truly impact a family dynamic. I have worked with families and individuals who have experienced anxiety, depression, abuse/neglect, parenting difficulties, addiction, stress, loss, and the frustrations of life.
I would describe my approach as empathetic, warm, goal oriented, and client centered. I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution focused therapy, and Motivational interviewing to help my clients set goals and objectives, work through their traumas, and feel empowered once they have met their goals.
I earned my Bachelors Degree at Cal State University Fullerton, California in Child and Adolescent Development. Then went on to earn my Masters Degree from Argosy University, Utah in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I have been married for 12 years and we have 3 children. Both my husband and I work so navigating work and family life is always a task I can truly relate to.
I look forward to talking with you.

Samantha has helped me so much! She is very professional, knowledgeable, kind, understanding and non-judgemental. She helps me process and see things clearly and gives me goals and tools to work on between sessions. I feel really comfortable with her and would highly recommend her.
She's been pretty helpful.
She is very nice, and will talk to you when needed. She gives insight and different suggestions to solve things.
So far so good!
Samantha was great! Opening up about my past isn't always easy for me, but she made me feel comfortable and understood.
Best therapist I've ever had.
Samantha is awesome. She listened and understood my concerns, and she provided me options and materials to apply going forward. I look forward to our next session!
Samantha is genuine, kind, smart, and an amazing listener.
She is amazing. She has helped me heal and feel better after only two sessions. I trust her!
I appreciate Samantha- she’s easy to talk to and very helpful. Give some good insights and gives me support.
Samantha has taken the time to make me feel validated. She has offered ways to help me and they are working. I did not know I could feel better in just a couple weeks. I wish I would have done this sooner.
Samantha respects what I have to say. She listens and helps me understand my thoughts and feelings. I feel comfortable talking with her and I’m confident she knows what she’s doing.
I’ve only had one session with her, but she immediately began trying to understand and come up with physical solutions to my issues, which is something counselors in the past have not done for me.
I love talking with Samantha! She has a very soothing voice and always allows you to finish talking. She always has great ways of encouraging better thought patterns and suggestions on how to handle situations.
I'm confident that this will be a positive and helpful experience. She is a fantastic therapist.
I was a little hesitant to use this service, until I had my first video call with Samantha. I felt so understood and I felt we are off to a great start. She set a precedent for a great balance between setting actionable goals and listening and empathizing. I would recommend her to anyone!
