My name is Sarah Reynertson. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I absolutely love being a counselor and it is such an honor to be given the privilege of supporting others in their journey of life. I obtained my bachelors degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University in 2008 and obtained my graduate degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2012 and began my counseling journey as an intern in 2011 in Chicago. I have worked in both the for profit and non profit sectors of mental health. My experience includes case management and mental health outpatient counseling in individual, family, couples, and group settings. I am an avid user of DBT and CBT techniques as well as psychodynamic and mindfulness/meditation techniques. I also love to incorporate essential oils when I can to help support the nervous system and decrease the stress response we often have when managing mental health symptoms. My primary focus has been treating those who have experienced severe trauma, anxiety, and depression and other mental health disorders using strength based approaches. I also have experience in supporting those who are adjusting to life transitions and changes which impact their mental health. I view my role as a practitioner like being a GPS. A goal or need is identified and I support clients in navigating their journey and support them in recalculating for any detours that arise along their way.
