Shari Ketzer, LISW
About me
Welcome! I am a clinical social worker who earned a Master's degree from the University of Cincinnati. I have been practicing for 13 years. I have worked with a wide variety of individuals and families. Some include foster and adoptive families dealing with the struggles involved in dealing with both the changes that brings as well as the early childhood trauma involved, individuals who are facing barriers to moving forward and achieving their goals due to barriers they are having difficulty identifying, and individuals who are finding it difficult to connect in a meaningful way to others.
I have been practicing and researching trauma and trauma informed care for the past 10 years. I believe that trauma is initially experienced in a sensory way and that finding words to describe and explore trauma is a process. I believe that many if not most of us experience a variety of traumatic events in our lives that affect us and create obstacles in our lives. I believe that healing takes place within relationships and that a successful therapeutic alliance can sometimes be the catalyst that moves us forward.
I use a variety of tools in helping people identify and develop the narrative of their life while paying attention to what is going on in their environment that may be contributing to the struggles they are facing. I take an interpersonal approach and believe that each person is a unique individual who deserves respect and self-determination in their life.
I look forward to walking with you on your journey!

It took a few tries before finding a therapist I really clicked with on here, and Shari is 100% it. She makes it feel safe and easy to be open and honest with her. Her message responses are insightful and timely, she has shared plenty of helpful resources with me, and I genuinely look forward to working with her further. She helped me go from being super nervous about therapy to feeling completely comfortable with it, and I appreciate it so much.

There are good therapists and there are not so good therapists. There are therapists who have done a lot of work on their growth and healing and then there are therapists who have not. Shari is a good therapist who I can tell has put herself through the same process she asks her clients to engage in.

Shari is an incredibly empathetic person and a great therapist. She's helped me through highs and lows. I know it's hard to come by therapists you click with, but she's the best of the best
