The therapeutic relationship is a significant factor in how effective therapy will be. Take time to shop around for the right person whether it's me or a different therapist. Make sure that it is someone who views you as greater than the problems you face. Your therapist should empower you and work with you to assess your needs and develop your plan. Therapy isn't perfect but it's a process.
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Loyola University and Masters in Mental Health and Counseling with a specialty in trauma. I utilize a multifaceted approach to treating the whole person. I have experience with ADHD, Autism,, Reactive Attachment, Bipolar, Depression, Anxiety and other mood disorders, family issues, and couples therapy.
If you think you would like to get to know me better and work with me let's talk. I look forward to getting to know you.

I am really grateful to have Shiela as a therapist. She is very easy to talk to. It took no time at all to develop a rapport with her. She actively listens, gives me feedback and asks questions. She is engaged in the session. She gives me "homework" when I need it, worksheets, videos, audiobooks, etc, based on what I'm going through in particular. She is genuinely concerned about the issues I'm dealing with and helping me with them. She makes it very easy to get in touch with her and she is prompt about responding. I've gone to a few other therapists, but Shiela is far and away the hardest working and the best I've been to.
