No matter how lost and frustrated you may be feeling right now, you don't have to be stuck in the darkness forever. There is sunshine ahead, sometimes we all just need a little help to find it peaking through the clouds. The fact that you are here, actively looking to improve your life, shows great strength and promise. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over ten years experience providing therapy to youth, adults, and elderly clients. I have worked with clients with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, mental illness, self-esteem issues, relationship struggles, abuse and trauma, and substance abuse . In addition I provide insight and guidance for clients who are just feeling lost, confused, or overwhelmed by life decisions or changes. In addition to being an LCSW, I am a mother and can empathize with the stress and concerns of parenting and marriage. One of my children has special needs, so I can relate and offer insight and support with this as well. With anything you may be struggling, I will help you uncover areas in your life that you can improve upon in order to reach your goals, and do so in a compassionate and nonjudgmental manner.
I follow a strengths-based and solution-focused approach in helping my clients learn how to problem solve and uncover the tools they need to overcome their problems. I adhere to theories from both Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and use techniques from both depending on what my clients' needs are. My goal is to help my clients realize how to overcome troublesome, disadvantageous thoughts and replace them with more productive thoughts that will lead to better outcomes. I teach my clients coping strategies and skills that they can add to their toolbox to use as they become more capable of overcoming their own challenges. I love to implement theories from DBT, especially mindfulness and living in the here and now. I believe in the saying that we should never let the troubles of the past or fear of the future destroy the happiness of our present.
As humans we all face obstacles and challenges as we try to navigate through life. It is up to us how we face these challenges. We can either crumble under the weight of our obstacles, or grow stronger because of them. I truly believe every individual has unique strengths and attributes that will enable him or her to not only overcome challenges, but find a greater sense of peace, joy, and understanding because of these challenges. I look forward to working with you!

I love talking with Stephanie. She has made such a difference in the way I view the issues I've been having.
Stephanie is amazing. She has helped me understand that my negative reactions and anxiety cause a chain reaction. She is supportive, understanding, and not at all judgmental. I feel empowered to move forward in my quest for mindfulness and health because she has been such an advocate for me!
She is really helpful with everything. She is understanding and always makes you feel like you have been heard.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working with Stephanie Deaver. I started messaging her for some motivation and anxiety issues and since then she has been there for me an unexpected death, reoccurrence of depression, career struggles, relationship ups and downs. Every time I think I’m good enough to stop meeting something comes up and I’m reminded how great it is to have someone so close to confide in and help me.
I have been working with Stephanie for the past couple of weeks. Stephanie’s empathetic profile caught my attention and I decided to try her. Since our first interaction, she has been very sincere and always specifically addresses my issues. She makes me feel heard and offers techniques for me to help myself. I look forward to continuing to work with Stephanie, and knowing she is there for me when I am in need,
Stephanie is a kind, compassionate, and competent counselor. She checks on me often, is always punctual for our appointments, and makes me feel validate. Great counselor.
Thank you so much for helping me really understand what’s the cause of my problems and help me with different techniques to overcome them.
She is great at working with me and my needs. I feel like I am making improvements in the way I think.
Stephanie has been amazing in helping me with my depression and setting healthy goals. She has provided me with many many helpful tools that I can apply in my life. I was worried that counseling wouldn't help because I can't always make myself reach out to someone when things get bad but not only has Stephanie always been available and understanding, she has also given me resources and strategies I can use on my own. I really appreciate that and it has been helping more than I would have believed.
