I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has 9 years of experience working in the mental health field. Currently practicing in Idaho focusing on mental health/behavioral challenges, but have also worked in Utah, Kentucky, and Indiana working with challenges related to mental health, behavioral health, addiction, relationships, personality disorders, culture, spirituality, rural life, and homelessness. Some of the therapies which I utilize is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Reality Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
I believe that healing and understanding occurs when there is a strong client-counselor relationship which is caring, non-judgmental, and focuses from the client's point of view. I believe in the resiliency of people and the importance of bringing to the surface internal strengths and values which individuals can use to empower themselves with the ability to move forward in their lives. I also focus on the power of connection, and how connecting, whether it be to relationships, spirituality, values, the present moment, nature, or ones-self, leads to healing and growth.

I tried to lose weight for years, nothing seemed to work. After a few sessions with Stephen I lost a lot of weight! I’m no longer weighed down by a job that had taken a toll on my health. I’m not weighed down by a lot of other junk floating in my head, I feel lighter than I have in years. Highly recommend.

Stephen made a believer out of me. He’s the first therapist I’ve had any luck with. He’s great to talk to and has amazing skill helping me to change my thought process. After meeting with him weekly for about four months, the improvements I made were drastic and I owe it to his guidance. One of the things I appreciate most about him is how down to earth he is. Every other therapist I’ve seen has been caught up in their own ego but Stephen really is salt of the earth and approachable.

I can't say enough good things about Stephen Bunnell. But I think the best review I can leave him is that I'm paying for this out of my own pocket. I've had a referral out there for over a year. I got a call a couple of weeks ago that my number came up for a therapist that my insurance would cover. No thanks! The relationship, understanding and progress I've made with him is worth every penny. If want a down to earth therapist that will truly help you navigate through this journey you need him.
