My passion is helping individuals and families find new perspectives and a sense of balance in relationships, emotions, self-identity and thinking, as well as navigating through difficult transitional phases. I specialize in working with Men & Teens as they begin to manage and express emotions, relationships, and life changes in healthier ways. The individuals I work with appreciate our initial focus on getting to desired goals and really figuring out what we want to accomplish in sessions. This helps us connect strengths and resources directly to the work at hand.
Specific issues that my style tends to work best with are depression, anxiety and relationship issues. My specialty in working with men has come from examining how our gender roles play a part in how we develop and relate to others. As a Family therapist I am trained to work with individuals, families and couples in a way that includes all the relationships and roles a person plays in life, in addition to traditional ways of how we think, feel and behave. I practice from this perspective in a solution-focused and eclectic format. I also weave in the concepts of mindfulness into much of the work I do.
My role is to empower individuals to develop the tools they need to build and maintain healthy relationships and identities. With practice and some changes in perception, a present mindset can help create focus and remove barriers that interfere with achieving goals, which keep us stuck in negative self-view or worry.
My collaborative style during the therapy process prioritizes empowerment and balance, helping you become your own catalyst of change.
