Hello, my name is Stephen Draminski. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from North Central College in Naperville, IL and a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. I am currently licensed by the State of Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I have been in clinical practice providing counseling services for over 15 years. I have experience working with adults and adolescents about a variety of mental health and behavioral concerns. I have experience working with anxiety, obsessive/compulsive issues, depression, mood disorders, sexuality, anger, relationship issues, stress, motivational issues, and trauma.
I have worked in the field of social services since 1998 and have worked with individuals with developmental disabilities, crisis management, forensic populations, and general mental health and emotional counseling. My counseling style combines strength-based, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused approaches to help individuals achieve their therapeutic goals. Identifying one's strengths and coping skills that can be used to help work through various issues is an important part of my therapy approach.
I feel that building a strong therapeutic relationship is the heart of all counseling. Recovery is a journey and I hope to be your guide on that journey.
My typical hours for video sessions, phone sessions, and live chat will be after 5 pm (CST) on Tuesdays and on Sunday afternoons (CST); but I should be able to respond to messages with more frequency. I make sure to answer of messages sent to me that day before the end of the day, but I have a pretty good turn around time. I cannot always answer messages before 5 pm (CST) and I typically don't answer messages after 9 pm (CST), unless I happen to be available during those hours.
