Steve is an amazing counsellor and has such a terrific way of explaining things! I always feel joyful and motivated after each and every session. He is truly helping me understand my past, making me view my life from a much clearer and more positive perspective.
One year ago this month I started therapy. I never dreamed at that moment I finally had made a decision that would ultimately change my life so much for the better. The help of my fantastic therapist whose vast knowledge, humour, and perception of knowing exactly when to push me to own my own voice, and pull me up when I had very little to no confidence in myself. I am forever grateful and I really cant thank him or BetterHelp enough!!
Steve explains the therapy procedure well before he actually starts the session. He completely understands my situation and knows why I am feeling the way I do. The exercises he has given me have already started to take a positive effect. I am confident that I will come out of this feeling much better.
Steve has been great.
I've been talking to Steve for the past 3 months for anxiety, CPTSD and other minor concerns I had. He has been very supportive always and provided thorough explanations with examples to help me understand my symptoms and problems. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. He provided effective solutions. He provides diverse perspective as a therapist, colleague and a friend. Also he has been very accommodating with my schedule as well, although it was sometimes challenging to schedule a session due to time difference. Amazing therapist and I would highly recommend Steve.
Steve is an amazing counselor and a remarkably respectful person. I always got the feeling the discussions were open and honest. The insights I received from our sessions were astounding. I have a much deeper understanding of myself and love for myself thanks to our sessions. I hope every person who seeks counseling would have the opportunity to work with someone who's at least half the counselor Dr. Berman is.
I have only done 2 sessions with Steven. I already know He is hugely knowledgable and explains things in a understandable way. He is easy to talk to and transfers and explains his approaches rather than doing he gives the reasons why and allows yoiu autonomy and gives points of reference for reading for self educating on top of what we discuss. I feel the sessions have huge value as he covers many things and its a very efficient use of time
I've only had a couple of appointments with Steven so far, but they've been really great. I've already recommended him to my sister because he has the type of skills and expertise that we both are looking for. He's quite knowledgeable in many different areas and is keen to share that knowledge. I'm excited to continue my sessions with Steven.
I haven’t been working with Steven for very long, but within two sessions, I knew I had made the right choice and that this was a good fit. He recommended materials that are relevant to my situation, and made me realize that my abuse is valid, and not just in my head.
I look forward to continuing with therapy.
This is my second session with Steve and I look forward to working with him exclusively! Our personalities are similar and I’m at complete ease with him!
Been speaking with Steve for awhile now and I wouldn’t have it any other way
I have been in counseling with Steve for about four months now, and although i've yet to get through our current agreed "program" for my therapy, i can say i feel very confident in him as a therapist. he has a very scientific, engineering-based approach, so he will offer you a very objective standpoint of things as opposed to the more emotional-support kind - which i believe is very useful for people who need some structure to their therapy. He helps me break down big, overwhelming issues into little pieces I can deal with over time. I can also tell he knows his stuff very well and has been one of the pioneers in the field itself. I very much recommend Steve for those looking for this kind of approach.
Steve has been an excellent counselor and has been able to help me quite a bit in the short amount of time we have worked together. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs help from a straight shooting and professional therapist.
I have been talking with Steven for many months now. I came to him a mess of anxiety and nerves, very little confidence and feeling like there was something deeply and inherently wrong with me. In such a short amount of time I have come to have so much peace, and a new sense of myself. It didn't happen overnight, but looking back that really wasn't all that much time after 25 years of feeling insecure.
I have tried therapy in the past with minor success, but Steve doesn't just sit there and nod, he actually counsels - which is what I really needed. He gave me so many helpful tools that I regularly find super useful, but ultimately he helped me to shift my perspectives, see things in a different light and begin to build confidence.
I could not be more thankful. Look no further if you want a great therapist who has incredibly accurate insights, is wonderful at storytelling and explaining things and takes a more direct approach to healing than what you may previously have experienced.
I absolutely loved my sessions with Steve. I immediately felt comfortable with him. He gave me so many different tools to use moving forward in my life and I’ll be forever grateful for his guidance. I’d highly recommend him to anyone who has an addiction background he understands.
Steve is a GEM. He is so kind, relatable, real and loves what he does. These qualities translate into his therapy practice effortlessly. In just 2 sessions, I have gained tools that have dramatically improved my well being and life. He is giving me the confidence to be fully myself. I also love that he specializes in LGBTQ+ which really puts me at ease. I would highly recommend him if you are matched with him.
Wonderful, professional help and support. He listens carefully and is very kind. I feel glad that he helps me.
Very insightful and to the point, helped me understand my view on the world.
Steven is a wonderful therapist with loads of expertise and different approaches to suit your needs. He really helped me deal with my anxiety and emotional trauma, and was always there to support me in my journey back to health. After having worked with him, I have a much greater understanding of how to handle the issues I deal with, where they come from, and what the path to health looks like.
i don’t know how to explain it but this man is going to change my life. it’s ironic and astounding because i’m a lesbian and we’ve only had two sessions. he’s smart. maybe the smartest person i know smart. if, you’re ready to start living your life, go to this man. i’m just at the beginning but i have high hopes for the months to come!
I just finished my last therapy session with Steven after two months. And I'm glad to say that he has helped me a lot.
The methods he used are evidence-based and solution-oriented, but he gave a warm personal touch to our sessions to make me feel at ease.
It turned out that the therapy he chose for me was working tremendously well and it fit my personality perfectly. The exercises he gave me were fun but gave me valuable insights. In the end I overcame traumas that haunted me for over 30 years.
Thank you, Steven!
I can honestly say that Steve is an incredible human being, phenomenal intellect, and compassionate therapist. I feel very confident in my path toward recovery because of him.
I feel comfortable with I am speaking with him . And I believe he is can navigate me to resolve all my anxiety issues
Steve is a great guy, I think he's a down to earth, level-headed guy with a great sense of humor. I'm looking forward to working with him further.
Thanks for all your help in guiding me to face my fears and walk through my anxiety. Steve is really good and kind. I would definitely recommend him to my friends or whoever needs help.
Steve is wonderful. Very kind
Excellent and extremely intelligent man with a true calling for his craft.
I have had only two sessions with Steven so far, however, I felt so much better after talking with him each time. He has provided me with tools and greater insight into my condition, which has afforded me the hope that one day I will get better. I look forward to continuing my journey towards healing, with Steven's guidance and support.
Steve is a wonderful therapist. He really finds very unique and specific ways to relate to me.
I absolutely love and adore him so much. He has helped me cope with my addiction and stress problems in so many different ways. Even though it's been over the phone or online this entire time and states away, he makes me feel like he is sitting right in front of me talking to me like I'm a real person. There's so many more things I could say about Steven in a positive manner but that would take me another paragraph or two. He is probably the best counselor I have ever come across and he listens to everything, with a very neutral understanding. He does not make me feel pressured to do certain things by a certain time he works on my schedule,, the only down part is no immediate text back and forth but he DOES respond as soon as he possibly can and is always willing to do a light session unscheduled. I will recommend Steven to everybody I ever have ever known seeking help. We have barely scratched the surface together, honestly. But he knows me better already then most of my closest friends / or family.
Great tools so far to use for my everyday stressors
Steve understands me a way that few others do. In addition to all his degrees and understand, he’s also just plain enjoyable to talk to. He’s a therapist for a very specific type, but, for me, he’s exactly what I need at this point in my life.
I came to Better Help having recently been dumped and made redundant from my job within a few weeks of each other. I was anxious about how my life was going to turn out and could not see a light at the end of the tunnel.
When I was matched up with Steven Berman I immediately felt a little more at ease and that he was shining a light down the tunnel for me to walk towards. From our first session, he gave me techniques to manage anxiety and work through the emotions I was feeling. He made me realise that the power to change my life was within me and helped me to find that power by giving me tools to examine my past worries objectively and others to make me a better person than I was by using failures as lessons.
Even though we are thousands of miles away from each other, it felt like I was having conversations with a close friend. I could tell him anything without any worry of judgement and I was able to learn and understand that our failures do not define us, how we react to them does.
"Growth comes through discomfort" is one of the first phrases Steve told me and it is something I will take with me for the rest of my life. It is a phrase I have passed onto other friends who are struggling and become a mantra for me when I begin to feel down.
In the three months I worked with Steve, I was able to come to terms with my break-up and find a new job. He does not mince words and is able to get to the root of an issue quickly while giving you as much time as you need to talk through your emotions. His solution-focused brief therapy was exactly what I needed at an emotional point in my life and I will always be thankful to him for what he has done for me.
Steven has been a great help so far. I’m confident in his qualifications and style of therapy. Looking forward to this journey with him.
Steve is clearly extremely knowledgeable and I appreciate that he has continued to learn and update his practice to incorporate the techniques that he sees work the best. He is not intimidating at all and I enjoy working with him.
It's very short timeframe to comment on an overall success as such, but initial conversations have gone well and it makes me eager to progress and learn
100% helpful in trying to get me to a better place.
I’m very pleased with how my sessions have begun.
Steve offers me a different outlook by way of talking through things that I’ve never considered. He’s helped me to work through things that subconsciously I now realize I was pretending didn’t effect my everyday attitude and general well-being. Speaking to him is like having a weight lifted off of my shoulders. I’m thankful to have been matched with a counsellor who’s personality matches mine, allowing me to feel comfortable expressing myself.
I not only found a therapist in Steve, but also a kindred spirit. I can not praise him enough. He is the right person with the right knowledge and life experiences to truly understand what I am going through. Speaking with Steve is like talking to an old friend.
