About Me

I picture life as a journey and am passionate about accompanying individuals in their quest for a fulfilling and purposeful life. I see the counseling relationship as collaborative, and I seek always to create safety and rapport, in a non-judgmental setting. I enjoy working with clients in restoring hope to brokenness, and healing from pain. I have worked with individuals for 16 years who struggle with various challenges including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, grief and loss, addiction, psychotic disorders, mood disorders, and relationship issues, among others. I especially enjoy creating a safe environment in which people feel valued and accepted unconditionally. I believe in a strengths-based approach that raises a sense of self worth and confidence in the client. I also like to encourage the practice of holistic health principles for daily living that promote life and growth such as mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual resources.

I've worked with Susan for almost a year and she is stellar. I really feel like she understands where I am coming from because she truly takes the time to listen to me, and she always responds to be with a lot of thought and in-depth questions to help me move forward. I feel safe telling her how I feel and her skills at her job make her someone who doesn't only listen, but moves me towards the progress I can be scared to make all alone.

Susan is very good at listening and offering guidance if you ask for it, and I have found her to be very respectful and kind. I’m lucky to have been paired with her from the start and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a great counsellor.

I've only had a couple of luve sessions with Susan, but many many exchanges via chat etc. She is extremely attentive, polite, respectful and non judgemental. So far my time with Susan has helped me better navigate some of the areas of my everyday life that need work. She's also helping me to figure out who I am as a human being as opposed to a human doing, the latter historically being how I used to describe who 'I am.

Susan’s compassionate listening and support during our sessions leaves me feeling as if I have a supportive person alongside me all the time. I take comfort in knowing that anything I need to process or work on can be addressed via a message or in a video session.
