Susan Van Arsdel, LPC
About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, in the State of Missouri, with over 8 years of experience working as a counselor, behavior modification and life coach. I graduated with a Master Arts Counseling from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri in December 2013. I am also a National Certified Counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I have also helped many people who have experienced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex PTSD, physical trauma and emotional abuse. I have counseled many children, families and individuals in a variety of settings.
I attended trainings to become certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Rapid Reprocessing). Through this modality I am able to help those clients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex PTSD, physical trauma and emotional abuse. This can be very beneficial to these clients because it allows the client to process these very disturbing memories and put them back in a place where they can be kept safe, but no longer be harmful to the client.
My counseling approach is warm, genuine and interactive. I treat everyone with respect and compassion. I treat others as I would want to be treated. I am honored to be chosen to help my clients.
If you are ready to seek a more fulfilling, happier life and take the first step towards doing so, I am here to support and empower you on your road to change and success. I look forward to working with you!

I look forward to my weekly appointments with Susan! Talking with Susan is like updating a friend on what’s going on in my life, except this friend can actually help navigate me through the twists and turns. Beyond the talking, Susan has provided me with helpful worksheets, tools, and resources that have brought clarity and consistency throughout my progress in therapy. I don’t believe I could have matched with a better Therapist. Thank you for caring as much as you do, Susan!

Susan is very personable and very qualified helping clients with PTSD. She is the first counselor I've had who could address it immediately and effectively.

I really enjoyed my video calls with Susan, I felt very at ease with her and our conversations made me feel more positive. If it were not for financial reasons I would of carried on with my sessions.
Would happily recommend Susan to anyone.
