About Me
Hello, my name is Talona (rhymes with iguana) Talbot and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been licensed and practicing since 2006. My approach to working with people is built on open-minded compassion, recognizing that everyone has value and is doing the best they can in the moment. I will offer you empathy and understanding, and will hold you accountable as needed. Ultimately it is you who has the power to improve your life.
I have a great deal of experience working with individuals and families who are involved in the criminal justice system. I have also worked with people suffering from trauma and abuse, substance abuse issues, anxiety, and various forms of relationship challenges. I have experience working with LGBTQ concerns as well.
I work from a solution-focused approach, with some CBT and systems theory approaches included. I will work with you to identify the best outcomes for your life through our interactions. I will help you learn how to approach life, and the challenges it can bring, in ways that leave you feeling empowered and able to move through and move forward even after your therapy ends.

Reviews
Talona has been very understanding of my situation that brought me to her. Her listening, advice and insight has helped me address my issue and provided me a way to understand what I did. I greatly appreciate her professionalism and her personal touch with regards to my counseling.
Talona is a very competent therapist. She prompts introspection and really strives to understand me. She knows when to offer advice and when to listen, which is important to me because I need guidance just as much as somebody to listen and empathize. I'm optimistic that she's going to help me change a lot of thought patterns and habits and help me live a happier life!
Talona has been amazing and very helpful, I’ve only had one counselor before her, and liked her ok. Talona is amazing and gives me homework and really wants a better life for me. I’d she doesn’t hear from she will reach out to makes sure I am ok. My 14 year old daughter now speaks with her too, and appears to be very happy.
I find myself really looking forward to talking to her.
Talona has been the best therapist I've personally had. She shares good insight, she listens carefully, validates the way I feel, and she calls me out when it's important. I'm really grateful to have her in my life!
Talona really cares about my future and making sure I'm ok, even when I was going through things and couldn't respond she would always check in on me and make sure I wasn't in over my head.
Talona has been a huge help to me the last couple months. I’ve spoken to a few counselors and have never connected like I have with her. While I’m still working on things I finally feel comfortable opening up and admitting the good and bad parts of myself. I’ve never been able to do that. I’m grateful for her listening ear and her guidance.
