I am a licensed Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania with over 13 years of experience working as a Psychotherapist and Life Coach. I earned a Master of Science from Cairn University (2002) and a Master of Arts from Liberty University in Professional Counseling (2014). I worked as an outpatient therapist for six years in Central Pennsylvania and 7 years in Western Pennsylvania before going into private practice.
I work with clients struggling with difficult relationships, anger management, grief and loss, mood disorders, anxiety, and adjustment disorders to name a few. I also work along side of those healing from past trauma, infidelity in marriage, and life transitions. My eclectic approach to counseling allows me to adjust to the needs and personalities of my clients. My most common approaches to therapy are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy.
My desire is to bring healing to the brokenhearted, freedom to those who are bound, and joy to those who are mourning. Helping clients find purpose and enjoy the journey of life are also huge desires of mine. My priority is to listen to the needs of the client while developing a treatment plan that meets specific needs.
I am aware of the fears that come with building therapeutic alliance and the courage required to take the first step in seeking mental health care, and I am looking forward to easing the process and creating a safe place for you.

Tanesha is an expert listener who says a lot with a little. She is able to quickly assess the situation and respond with insight and genuine care.
Ms. Townsell has helped me through a very difficult time in my life. She has given me the ability to really reflect on myself and what I want out of life. She isn't the type of counselor who don't agrees with you absent-mindedly, but she really makes me dig deep into what is actually affecting me and what the proper course of action is. I would highly recommend Ms. Townsell to anyone who was looking for help.
Tanesha has been awesome with supporting my emotional and healing needs through this pandemic and past hurts. She has helped me see where God is through this process and helped me gain the confidence to walk in my truth.
Tanesha was caring and empathetic. She offered great ways to cope with depression and anxiety. She would listen to your problems in a nonjudgmental way and offered great advice for you to cope with any struggle you were going through.
