About me

Hello, my name is Theresia, but you can call me Tee! I understand that right now you may be feeling lost, frustrated, angry, hurt, and depressed; believe it or not...I’ve been there! I understand what it’s like to feel hopeless, scared, worried, alone, and overwhelmed. Right now you may not even know what you feel. I know you have many questions and yet so few answers to what is happening in your life right now. This is where I come in. I am here to listen to you tell your story and help you figure out how to move forward in your life, more importantly, I am here to give you support and understanding so you do not have to do this alone.

I am an experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. As a clinical mental health professional, I provide psychotherapy to adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families through the delivery of counseling, crisis intervention, mindfulness, and consultation. I focus on areas of depression, overthinking, trauma, low self-esteem, and anxiety. I help you understand why you feel the way you feel right now and pragmatic ways to change it. I am here to help you with whatever it is you are going through. I know you are completely over it by now!

I am also a Ph.D. candidate with five years’ experience in evidence-based research and advanced studies in individual family systems, couples, families, and adolescents. I have a pragmatic understanding of clinical interventions and treatments, and I can apply these strategies in real-life experiences.

As a clinician, I go beyond the "textbook" version of counseling. By this, I mean I understand the importance of engaging with you, being relatable and realistic to your needs, and just supporting you. My favored therapeutic modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Positive Psychology, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Structural Family Therapy (SFT), and Family Systems Therapy (FST). These are just a few of the many modalities I have been trained in which allows me to use an eclectic approach to therapy. Therefore your counseling experience will be genuine and based on your individual needs. I am down to earth, and I make myself available to provide relevant feedback and support when needed. I am here to listen to you and support you as you face the current conflict or crisis in your life. Whether it is a search for meaning, help to manage depression, anxiety, difficulty in relationships, or traumatic memories, I am here to support you and help you find stability and peace of mind.

What makes me different?

I will engage with you throughout the week so we are not just meeting once a week, but talking, interacting, and working on the problems that led you here. This is a judgment-free zone that will give you the freedom to be yourself and discuss what is happening in your life. My goal is to build you up to the point of resiliency so that you can advocate for yourself. You may leave me a message at any time, and I will respond to you as quickly as I can with relevant feedback on your conflict. The process will not be easy, but it is possible. I make it my business to understand your experience and offer realistic feedback and interventions to help you. I see each client as unique, and therefore my strategies are genuine to your specific need. I am here waiting to help you. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Theresia is a fantastic therapist! She’s helped me work through many years of build up complicated emotions that I couldn’t figure out myself. I’m so happy we got paired on BetterHelp and I would recommend her to anyone that experienced the complications I went through. She was very professional and listend to everything I had to get off my chest and once I was done she helped me work through all of it and also followed up in between sessions

I was only with her for a short time (a month) she helped me realized that I was feeling stressed and anxious because I couldn’t figure out a reason to keep going. I wanted to keep doing better and pushing but I didn’t have a reason why. Realizing that alone helped me figure out that I just needed to love myself for who I am. I am worthy and I am enough, I don’t need to do anything more.

My time spent with Theresia “Tee” Jackson’s counsel was exactly what I needed at a very difficult time in my life. She was warm, welcoming, compassionate, empathetic, a good listener, and very knowledgeable. Her schedule was very flexible and I was always able to get a time that worked for me. She was punctual, and always replied back within a day to any questions or concerns I had. I learned so much while being in treatment with her, and now I am able to apply that information to my life. I had online video chat sessions with her weekly since last June. I always looked forward to seeing her smiling face pop up on my screen every week at session time. I’m going to miss her. She was such a good match for me! (Thank you Tee!)
