About Me

Hi, my name is Wayne Hill and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have over 14 years experience in the field of mental health counseling. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, social problems, relationship problems, and compulsive behaviors. I have experience working closely with individuals who have found themselves stuck and don't know what to do about it. I have had the pleasure of assisting countless individuals, couples and families with resolving these problems so that their self esteem and positive self regard is improved, leading to a more fulfilling lifestyle.
My approach is to develop an empathic (understanding) non-threatening relationship with my clients. I believe that it is essential, to achieve a positive outcome, that I am able to identify with your unique situation (s). Together we will identify the exact nature of the problem and then, through cognitive behavioral and client centered techniques, develop the goals and objectives to produce results that you desire.
I completed my masters of science degree in Psychology (Community Counseling)and my bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science at National Louis University. I also completed my certification in Human Services Counseling (with high honors) from The College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn Illinois.
My professional experience includes various roles in the mental health sector in an inpatient and outpatient clinical setting. I have taught in the public school system and I currently work with kids and teens in community based programs. I have found that listening to adolescents and helping them work thru their problems has broadened my understanding of the family systems. I am also a U.S. Army veteran and welcome the opportunity to assist veterans as well as others dealing with any mental health or life challenges.
If you are seeking help identifying and resolving any mental health, personal, emotional, or social issues , I am here for you, and would welcome the opportunity to assist you.

At the beginning I was very skeptical about BetterHelp, but Wayne has been extremely supportive, has provided very spot-on insights that I never realized myself and has given me very good advice on how to change myself. I believe that he is such a good counselor because he loves what he does and he genuinely cares about the people he works with
