About Me

We all struggle with the fear of letting go...of something. It can be very frightening. And you may feel hopeless and helpless. But the empowerment you gain when you learn to let go and rid yourself of negative thoughts- is truly life changing. It is hard. But my role is to help you reach your personal goals. I specialize in treating adolescents and adults with anxiety and depression. I am nationally certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This therapy can help uncover the underlying causes of worry and fear, teach relaxation, look at situations in new ways, and develop better coping and problem-solving skills.
I frequently treat clients who struggle with self-esteem, anger issues and social anxiety. I promote mindfulness and self-care. Many young adults come to problem solve life transitions. Adults may have significant job anxiety and relationship difficulties. I especially enjoy practicing Family Systems Therapy.
There is help and hope in the therapeutic process. Change is possible. My goal is to provide compassion, support, insight and a safe place for you to successfully meet your unique goals. I welcome people of all backgrounds and cultures.

Mrs Dixon is a great listener and offers up ideas and thoughts that really make you think about what you’re dealing with. I like the worksheets she gives out too.

I have been working with Ms. Dixon for a couple of weeks now, and so far I have absolutely fully enjoyed and benefited from my time working with her. She's great at listening, flexible with scheduling, offers great insight, and responds back in a timely manner. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a counselor.
