About Me

Hello!
Welcome to BetterHelp! My name is Worth St.George and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Georgia. I have been providing psychotherapy for those at a local substance abuse treatment center but am also experienced in working with those struggling with depression, anxiety, family issues, amongst others. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2009 with a Master in Social Work. Since then I've worked in a psychiatric facility with dual-diagnosed patients and at a substance abuse treatment center. During that time I've seen the growth of many people through therapy and the 12-Step program. I'm now looking to hone my skills by providing individual therapy and use them to help you!

I would describe my approach as client-centered and motivation driven. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Both modalities are hands-on, practical approaches to problem-solving. CBT treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns and/or behaviors, while also taking into consideration the emotions one is experiencing. The hope is that by changing patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind difficult situations, then a change in feeling will occur. This helps people identify faulty or unhealthy ways of thinking and learn better ways of coping with life's stressors. Often times the key to change involves the motivation level within and I've found using positive thinking and encouragement can help to increase that motivation level over time.

Difficult and painful times are part of the human experience, especially today with the uncertainty that COVID-19 leaves in so many different areas in our lives. I understand seeking help involves being vulnerable and am glad you are willing to reach out now. I look forward to helping make someone's day better.

Worth and I worked together for 8 months and was the most amazing counsellor. He took his time to listen and respond, and helped me laugh and cry through all the good times and the bad. Covid sent me to a pretty dark place mentally, but I am so thankful I had such an amazing person to help me through it. I had an incredible relationship with Worth and wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavours.

I was very lucky to to have an opportunity to communicate with Worth. He is very attentive, kind and supportive. Sessions with him changed the quality of my life to a state where I feel confident and positive. Every time I remember those days when I felt low before I started therapy with Worth, I realize how grateful I am to him and how much success I have made thanks to Worth. These sessions are have been a good part of my life full of kindness and self growth.

Worth has been an outstanding therapist. I started with him at a low and dark place in my life. Pressure from all angles. Without knowing what therapy was like, I consider myself lucky with him being the first.

Worth provided a completely judgement free zone. This space and professional relationship allowed for a mutual interest in various mediums of art and comedy. This made it easier to not only start sessions, but to look forward to them as well. I would credit Worth with making my experience on betterhelp amazing.

As much credit as you give him, he deserves. I will miss sessions with him, but I know that if he can help others like he did with me that the world will be a better place.

I cannot thank him enough for the time he had spent with me on getting over small anxiety triggers or my deep depressive slopes. No challenge too big or too small to tackle.

I am in a better place from this experience and one that I can take with me and grow in my relationships with others, strangers, professional, and myself.

10/10 Would recommend him. It was WORTH it.

With the Pandemic, in person counseling wasn’t really an option and being a college student, a bit out of my price range.
It has really helped having Worth there to talk to throughout the week to help me stay positive. To me it is more beneficial than in person counseling because you only meet once a week and can only accomplish so much in that time frame.
Thanks so much for all your wise words Worth!
