Hi! My name is Hillary. I am a licensed therapist with many years of experience in providing talk therapy to clients with a diverse set of backgrounds. I enjoy working with people, helping them to realize their full potential and by providing support and guidance in reaching their goals. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, and my Master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis. I have experience working with adults and teenagers living with stress, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and chemical dependency. I help and support people going through major life transitions such as; new job, parenting, relationship stressors, grief/loss, etc. I like to use cognitive behavioral therapy, challenging negative automatic thoughts, working towards a healthier self. I believe having a constructive view of the self is the first step to moving forward to achieve your goals. I like to concentrate on solution-focused therapy using client’s goals as their motivation to better themselves, being mindful, present in the moment, as a place to start. I want to assist my clients to find their own empowerment. I offer my clients new perspectives while focusing on their strengths and support them in their journey towards the life they want and deserve. I look forward to working with you. Greetings, I am pleased and excited that you have decided to consider me as a possible partner in your journey of discovery, growth, and healing and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you. My name is Debra Younger. I have the claim to fame of being a 4th generation Californian, though I currently live in the mountains of New Mexico. I have been a professional therapist and Life Coach for 11 years. As a result, I am able to bring a wide breadth of learning and experience to my work. I am also a veteran and have a heart for working with our returning servicemen and women as they struggle to re-integrate back into civilian life from a combat or military environment. On a personal note, my many life experiences, such as being a single parent for 23 years, allow me to truly understand and emphasize with many of the adverse life events my clients have experienced. I have also been in my own personal therapy for 10 years, so I understand what it takes to admit that you’re human, that you can’t always handle what life throws at you, and be courageous enough to seek help. My areas of expertise lie in working with individuals who are struggling to deal with the adverse events they have experienced in their lives; including trauma, all forms of abuse, loss, grief, and attachment issues. My approach to therapy is founded on my belief that my clients are more than the problems that they are experiencing and bring to therapy. It is a holistic approach that sees them as a whole person consisting of mind, body, and spirit intimately intertwined and inseparable. A problem in any one area always affects the others. My preferred modality for counseling is Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy. This is a therapeutic approach that does not pathologize people, but rather takes a positive attitude toward the client’s issues and sees them as normal reactions to adverse life events, which events can create negative beliefs. These negative beliefs can then interfere with an individual’s ability to form healthy, adult relationships. Learning how to shift these negative beliefs to positive adaptive beliefs can enhance the ability to build healthy relationships. I am very excited about what IFS can offer you and would welcome the opportunity to introduce you to this powerful therapy and how it can help transform your lives.

My name is Lisa Spore and I have worked in the mental health field in Missouri for 14 years. Ten of those years have been as a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice. I believe in seeking out trainings in the latest techniques and polishing my skills to provide the best therapeutic experience my clients could ask for. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting (BSP), Somatic Experiencing, and use Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused Brief, and Client-Centered approaches in my practice. Everyone is unique, and I embrace that uniqueness by tailoring therapy to each client. I provide therapy within a safe and judgement-free environment. I believe accepting the limits of the human condition increases client’s positive responses to support and encouragement in the therapeutic setting. While utilizing strong clinical skills, I recognize that integration of natural healing can promote a strong foundation for optimum personal growth. The mind-body balance is paramount to returning to a healthy and positive emotional state. The Therapeutic relationship is recognized as the most important factor in a positive experience. In our sessions, we will work together to identify the best approach to address your specific needs. We will also explore any underlying emotional reactivity that could be increasing painful experiences. Evaluating current and past issues can assist us in recognizing how past events can negatively impact daily functioning. Solution focused techniques, Brainspotting, CBT, or Somatic Experiencing, in varying combinations, can all be used to alleviate distress.

My belief and approach to therapy begins with the idea that humans are generally self- correcting. This follows the teaching of both Carl Jung and Milton Erickson. We can get stuck for a variety of reasons and if able to get past that point, it can lead to us moving in a healthier direction. I believe that our value systems are extremely important to finding direction and solutions. I have studied comparative religions and cultures to be able to understand and work with a wide variety of people. I have worked in many different settings with a wide range of cultures and values. Currently my greatest strength is in working with individuals and couples. I started my career by creating and running an outpatient clinic as part of a runaway and homeless youth shelter. I did this for my first 18 years. We provided case management, individual and family therapy to youth and their families. We did this both in the shelter and in the community. My personal approach includes brief family therapy, problem solving therapy, structural and strategic systems theory, hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioral, communication theory and addiction therapies. I trained and supervised paid staff and graduate students. I worked in conjunction with a local university to conduct research which enabled us to improve our working therapy model and process. During this time, I completed 29 hours towards a PH. D in family therapy. I was offered a fellowship with Washington University's Ph. D program. I worked part time for New Life Christian Counseling, an outpatient therapy group, providing professional Christian therapy. I then worked 18 years for managed care helping members utilize their mental health benefits, providing phone therapy and crisis intervention. My other experiences were in outpatient office settings.
