Hi! Thank you for viewing my profile! Working with individuals inflicted with mental health issues has been my long term passion. I have a wide array of experience with both mental health and substance use disorders, and specialize in the adult (18+) and geriatric populations. I have been working as the Clinical Supervisor of a crisis center for the past 5 years and prior, as a Behavioral Health Therapist in a psychiatric setting for over 12 years. Earlier in my career, i spent just over 3 years working as a Clinical Care Coordinator and Therapist for an inpatient substance abuse program. I have loved all my positions and have such compassion for those who are suffering. I obtained my undergraduate degree from University of Buffalo in New York in Health and Human Services with a minor in Sociology and my Masters of Social Work degree from University of South Florida in 2005. I use a person-centered, solution focused approach along with motivational interviewing, and believe that each individual circumstance has its own recipe for success, which includes a high level of trust and rapport between client and therapist. Most people find me to be extremely empathetic, pragmatic, nonjudgmental, and eternally hopeful. I have a deep passion for helping others in need and firmly believe in the ability to change and better our lives. I look forward to getting to know you and assist you through your current struggles in attempt to uncover the best version of yourself :)
Martha McKenzie
Hi, I am Martha McKenzie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have over 30 years of experience working with adults, and teenagers. I received my higher education later in my life. After being married for several years, working, having a baby, and then getting a divorce, I made the decision to go back to school and I am so very glad that I did. I recieved my BSW, Bachelor of Social Work and my MSW, Master of Social Work, at the Florida State University. I received my License, as an LCSW in 2010, which afforded me the opportunity to see clients privately, who have many different disorders, Accomplishing the LCSW License, has made me a much more insightful, respectful, sensitive, compassionate and empathetic human. My education along with my experience has afforded me to help so many others going through hardships of their own. Also, because of the different esperiences in my life, I am able to feel connected to others. Another asset that I have, is that I am able to speak Spanish! My father was a linquist and could speak seven languages and because of high school teachers, teaching Spanish in my days, I was able to take a Spanish class each year of high school. I also, was able to take Spanish in college. I have gained a lot of experience working with the elderly, adults, teenagers and children. I have worked with clients with many concerns including, depression, anxiety, stress, OCD, ADHD, trauma, emotional abuse, domestic violence, parental problems, alcohol and drug use. I consider my specialty to be ADHD with adults, and teenagers. dren. ADHD, is so very interesting, as I can see especially now, how this disorder has been hidden, especially for women and girls until now. More and more females are being diagnosed with having this disorder and many are finding out later in their years. It use to be that only boys would be diagnosed with this disorder, simply because it was more aware in boys than girls, who would mask this disorder, because of shame or embarrasment. Throughout the years, I have attended several ADHD workshops, seminars, and webinars, and read digital information. I also follow many ADHD sites on the web as well as the official ADHD site found on the web. This web is opened to anyone who has ADHD, or anyone wanting to know more about it. I personally subscribe to the Additude magazine, which is the official magazine, which comes out quarterly, written by scientests and doctors. All of this together with my experience of working with teenagers having ADHD, has helped me to become extremly knowledgeable about the disorder. My counseling style is casual, warm, caring and interactive with my clients. My approach with my clients, combines Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness counseling, Psychodynamic counseling. I am also very proud to offer you Christian counseling and my ability to counsel you in Spanish, if needed. Your goals will be tailored to your specific needs and to be achieved by you. They will be written by both you and I, as your input will be extremely important in their being written for you specifically. You have shown courage and strength when you take a step towards seeking help for a more fulfilling, happier life. I look forward in meeting with you, working with you and empowering and supporting you! Thank you, for reading my profile.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and have an extensive background as a Pastoral Counselor with many years of experience working with all kinds of couples. Relationships are one of my fortes. It always takes courage and strength to work on one's relationship and those who choose to do so are my heroes. I have worked with couples who are anticipating becoming couples, couples who are considering divorce, couples just desiring to improve their relationship, with infidelity and infertility issues, with a range of personality issues, conflict resolution, grief/loss issues, family issues and a host of other relationship challenges. I am always on the side of what is best for the relationship. My work is couple focused with a emphasis on couple participation and work being done both inside and outside of the sessions. I seek to work with you to find the most effective, healthy and meaningful solutions to your concerns and to equip you with the ways to keep moving forward even when therapy is over. I have been fortunate to have couples return to me just to have a relationship "check up" from time to time. Some of the methods I use in my counseling include: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychotherapy, Split and Conjoint sessions, and Solution Focused Therapy. It is most important to use what is effective for your unique situation. There is always good hope for couple/relationship health and success if we work together. Relationships can win. I feel I bring together the best of both clinical and theological skills to effective and proven practice.
