By the year 2000, it became a bedroom community for many other towns where residents could find work.

The human spirit is more powerful than any drug, and it is that we need to nurture. Lives get off track for many reason, but they can get back on track. I am honored to help. For the last 30 years, I was employed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Since 1998, I served as a Drug Treatment Specialist, working with adult male offenders with substance use disorders. The previous 7 years, I was employed in Human Resources and unit management. I left that job due to mandatory retirement. I loved the work because I found it meaningful. Even though the primary focus was a cognitive-behavioral approach to addiction, I counseled our clients regarding grief and loss and relationship issues of all kinds. I enjoyed working with people who had forgotten their own potential and watching them grow and take control of the rest of their lives. EDUCATION Master of Arts in Personnel and Organizational Psychology in 1992, from the University of Central Oklahoma (formerly Central State University) in Edmond, Oklahoma.
