I have worked in a variety of settings and with various ages, which has allowed me to have a broad range of experience and understanding. My counseling style is as unique as every individual is. Some of the variety of approaches I use include: cognitive behavioral therapy, person centered, solution focused, and Adlerian therapeutic techniques. I focus on your needs and what it is that you want to gain from therapy. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I find it is important to focus on your strengths and building these up rather than focusing on the things you may not be the best at (after all, we are all human and are not perfect at everything!) It can be scary to take the first step to seek help, but I will be here to support and empower you through this fulfilling process! I look forward to working with you!

Welcome, Salutations, and Best Wishes! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been in the helping profession for over 15 years. The depth of my experience includes working in the following fields: Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Resource Development, School Administration, and the Judicial System. I have experience collaborating with individuals, couples, families, in addition to NGOs, faith-based organizations, and political representatives. It is my belief that I am not the expert in your life, rather I am just here as a conduit for change that you wish to see occur. Moreover, if I had to liken my role in your life to anything it would be the narrator in the GPS navigation system which provides clear and concise directions based on the destination you have input into the system. I believe that we will work as collaborators to achieve the goals that make sense for you. As a solution focused therapist, I am dedicated to brief treatment, adhere to minimal interventions, and do not delve into underlying pathology that may be present or family history in great detail. In our time together we will focus on the here and now in order to have you achieve goals in a concise and fulfilling manner. I look forward to hearing from you soon! Platinum Wishes, Dr. Kahilah Jones-Whyte

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, and you don’t have to know exactly where to begin. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and accepted for who you are. I take a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to therapy, meeting you where you are and honoring your unique experiences, strengths, and needs. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I see therapy as a collaborative process where we can work together to better understand what you’re experiencing and find what feels right for you. As a board-certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC), I also have the ability to bring creativity into our work when you’re interested. Art therapy doesn’t require you to be “artistic”—creative expression can simply offer another way to explore feelings and experiences when words don’t always come easily. I have experience working with teens, young adults, and adults in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, substance use treatment, and crisis services. These experiences have shaped my compassionate, nonjudgmental approach and taught me the importance of seeing the whole person behind what they are going through. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult transition, healing from past experiences, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I’d be honored to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you move toward where you want to be.

Why work with a licensed therapist near you?

This can help if your schedule is full, if travel is difficult, or if you simply prefer a more discreet setting. You can learn more about what a therapist does on the therapist role page.

Online therapy vs. in-person therapy in Pennsylvania
Online therapy and in-person therapy both connect you with a licensed professional, and the main difference is how you meet. In-person therapy takes place at an office and may involve travel and set appointment windows. Both formats can support meaningful progress, so the right choice often comes down to what fits your life.
