Greetings! My name is Dr. Jennie Band, and I have been a licensed professional counselor for over 20 years and a board-certified music therapist for 45 years. I began my professional career as a music therapist working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disorders. I eventually returned to earn a doctorate in counselor education and became licensed as a professional counselor (LPC) in South Carolina. In SC I created a blended independent practice combining counseling and music therapy. and served in that capacity for many years. Several years ago I moved to Western North Carolina to retire. I discovered very quickly that I was not ready to retire, so here I am coming out of retirement to work as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I enjoy working with clients of all ages from all walks of life. I believe I am especially effective in working with folks who want a counselor who will listen carefully, offer wisdom and guidance, and collaborate with you to create an individualized plan for treatment. I use a variety of approaches and interventions based on what you need at this particular point in your life. It will be an honor to work with you.
