Dr. Robert Hanser
I am a counselor licensed in Louisiana and Texas with over 20 years of experience working with individuals who present with a wide variety of challenges. In particular, I have specialized experience working with substance abuse, family violence, abuse, trauma, anger, and veteran’s issues. I have also worked with numerous police officers and police families. I have worked with people who also find themselves lost and/or at a standstill in life; in particular, those who are searching for meaning in their existence. My approach to counseling goes from being person-centered (while means using quite a bit of reflective listening) to more directive feedback, depending on what the individual requests. I do work that includes delving into the subconscious as well as typical cognitive-behavioral work. First and foremost, I will tailor my approach to your requested desires and needs. My primary objective is to help people obtain the total quality life that they seek in a manner that provides specific and concrete feedback and options. It is my ethical duty to remain nonjudgmental and to make my client’s welfare my paramount concern. If it seems like this information has the potential to be helpful, the please do feel free to contact me. I look forward to working together in the future.

Megan Woods
I am an LPC that has been working in some capacity in the mental health field for about 8 years serving a variety of people from various backgrounds and struggles. I have a Master's in Marriage and Family therapy from Liberty University and have worked both in offices providing individual, group, and family therapy as well as meeting people in their homes for individual therapy. I have experience in working with individuals that face a variety of struggles including depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, identify issues, Bipolar disorder, psychosis, eating disorders, trauma, relationship issues, grief, anger management concerns, and low self esteem. Often people I work with enter the counseling relationship with fear that their struggles are too big and overwhelming for any possible help. I find joy in building a therapeutic alliance with that individual to help them see that although I will not be able to understand their experience, I am not deterred from working with them to become healthier and more stable. I am more of an eclectic counselor, working from a variety of theories and techniques. Sessions, in my opinion, should be a natural engagement of two individuals working toward a common goal and not forced or ridged. One day a person may need to establish a daily schedule and identify 3 coping skills to manage anxiety. Another day that same individual may need to talk while painting a picture. An important question I believe is important for me to answer as a counselor is, "what do in know about my client?" Not meaning what is the person's name and demographics. What is their favorite color? What books do they like to read? What brings them joy? If I don't know an individual then how and why should that person trust me to share burdens? In that journey I do like to utilize techniques often from Cognitive Behavioral therapy, individual therapy, grief therapy, anger management, and systems theory among other modalities. I look forward to having the opportunity to working with new individuals toward a better future!

Brianne Phillips
Welcome! My name is Brianne Phillips. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, and Louisiana, and hold the credential of a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. Over the past 17 years, I have spent my time as a social worker in various settings: in schools, in private practice, in a hospital, with youth in foster care, and with survivors of domestic violence. Even though the settings were all different, one thing stayed the same. Our success and challenges are influenced by our lived experiences and our perceptions of these experiences. I have helped people cope with change, parenting challenges, relationship stressors and conflicts, trauma, and managing the everyday stressors that go along with life in general. When I’m working with clients, I genuinely want to get to know you. Starting sessions with a new therapist can seem a bit intimidating. Making sure you feel heard and valued is important to me. I want you to know you’ve got someone in your corner. For me, learning about the different parts of your life is important as we embark on this journey. As a social worker, I believe in taking a holistic approach to therapy; looking at the big picture rather than one tiny segment. Once we see where you fit into the big picture and how your perceptions and experiences have shaped your behavior, we can begin to challenge your thought processes to change your thinking and/or past behaviors. We all know the saying, “If you continue to do the same thing, you’ll continue to get the same result.” I am confident that as a team, you and I can take on the challenges you’re facing, so you can try new ideas and begin to see positive results.
