I am a licensed professional counselor with a PhD in psychology from Michigan, I have over 15 years of experience in outpatient therapy. I have worked with people who have a broad range of concerns including depression, anxiety, life change issues, career challenges and changes, grief counseling, educational challenges, and phobias. I have worked with people who experience obsessive-compulsive disorder, anger management issues, relationship issues, body image concerns, and self-esteem issues. I have worked with people who are having difficulty with coping, emotional strife, aging concerns, and serious health issues. I have worked with LGBTQ+ clients, transitioning teens and adults, teens, adults, the senior population and those from both affluent and economically disadvantaged families. I am eclectic with a down to earth approach, in other words, I use a variety of approaches and techniques to help based on the person’s individual needs and I am a strong believer in homework in therapy. That is, the person will have work to do outside our sessions that will assist in the individual more readily meeting their goals. The goals established will be developed in a collaborative manner between myself and the individual. The sessions will be interactive and unique to the individual and their needs. I treat everyone with respect and do not make judgments. My goal is to help and I consider myself a natural born helper and counseling as a collaborative process in an environment, that is safe and empowering where all are accepted. Counseling is a process that some individuals use temporarily and for some long term, whichever a person chooses I am here to help. Participating in counseling is a step toward self-awareness and I understand how difficult it can be to face complex issues that hinder everyday life. Let’s talk!

I am a licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Registered Art Therapist in Michigan with over 14 years of experience working as a School Counselor and Art Therapist. I have worked with individuals with a wide range of concerns including bullying, self esteem, discrimination, relationship issues and parenting problems. I have also helped many people communicate more freely by incorporating simple art techniques through our talk therapy sessions. At times, it helps to talk when there is not an actual problem or situation, but just as a release of sorts of daily life stressors. My counseling style is open and light. I believe in treating people with respect, open-mindedness, and humanity. I utilize cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and rational-emotive counseling. We will identify what your goals need to be and break them down into small, achievable, non-intimidating steps. There is nothing wrong with "good selfish". We take care of our bodies, our spirit and our health.... mental health is just as important! Let's Talk!
