William Wilson
I am a licensed professional counselor in the State of Missouri, and I have been practicing for six years. I typically work with adolescents and adults, and I have experience treating a broad range of concerns. These include anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, spiritual crises, organizational skills and goals, communication, and relationships. I also have experience with grief and trauma, as well as abuse. Finally, I have also worked with couples and pre-marital counseling. I utilize multiple different approaches, depending upon the context and the client's specific needs. For instance, I often utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, logotherapy, narrative therapy, and existential approaches. I appreciate the complexity of individual's and the variability each person's unique set of circumstances bring to the table. Hence, my approach reflects these observations, as I aim to avoid over-simplistic or reductionist views of people and their concerns. Life can easily become overwhelming, as our daily experiences present us with a staggering amount of complexity and stress. It's not reasonable to assume that we can, or even should, handle these things on our own. We are social creatures, and thriving in the world requires us to take hold of those who have extended themselves to us. That is what it means to make the choice to speak to a counselor. It is the acceptance of an invitation to walk together, with someone, through a season of life. It is one of the most human things we can do. I greatly anticipate walking alongside you, as you take the first steps to address and overcome the obstacles in your path.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor/Art Therapist and I have a wide range of experience working with clients of all ages. I have worked with children in special education, elderly adults in hospice, and provided art therapy as well as individual counseling to patients who suffer from addictions and/or severe and persistent mental illness. In addition to working with psychiatric patients, I have provided education to family members through the National Alliance of Mental Illness. As an Qualified Mental Health Professional at Truman Medical Center in KC, MO I have worked with some of the most difficult cases in the community and also have personal experience with family members who suffer from mental illness. Having both professional and personal experience has made me very aware of how difficult it is to navigate mental health services for yourself or for a loved one when trying to access help for mental illness. As for my therapeutic approaches, I consider myself to be open minded, flexible, and willing to provide whatever would be best suited for each client I work with. I have a humanistic approach and can provide Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Art Therapy.

Gale Green
Welcome! I’m Gale Green, M.A., L.P.C. and I appreciate the willingness and trust you have taken to address an issue you would like to examine. With that in mind, allow me to share who I am and what I can offer to you. I began this part of my life journey after working in many industries and at many jobs. After my children were grown and gone, I decided to pursue my lifelong career dream of counseling people. After returning to school and obtaining my Master's Degree, I took early retirement to begin my new career. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for the State of Missouri for twenty one years. During these years I worked with many individuals and families - active duty military families, refugees and immigrants that fled war and torture; incarcerated individuals and their families, as well as ordinary couples and families seeking to improve their lives. Please know that along with my professional training and licensing, I bring the addition of my many decades of life experiences that, I believe, have proven invaluable to my empathy and understanding of where you may be in your life. I strive, first and foremost, to LISTEN. If I don’t do that, I will not know what you need or what we will need to do together to address your reasons for counseling. The therapeutic approaches that I have found most effective are Centered Person Therapy, Eclectic Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. You may not know what any of these therapies mean. THAT’S OKAY! These and other therapies are merely a way to help me determine the best way to help you feel comfortable, to help you identify your true problem and provide a framework to help me help you find ways for you to manage or eliminate the concern that brought you to counseling. My goal is to always be empathetic and supportive of your thoughts, ideas, and needs. Honesty is an invaluable part of therapy and I will always aim to help you feel safe enough to be honest with yourself, so that you can be honest with me, as we collaborate to meet your therapy goals. Judgment is not a part of how I function. Ultimately, my overarching desire is to LISTEN, be SUPPORTIVE, and HELP YOU IDENTIFY your true reason for counseling NOW, and then work with you to achieve your counseling goals with open and honest communication. At this time, I am only accepting clients that are 21 and older and that reside in the State of Missouri or countries outside of the USA. If you think you would like to give working with me a try, I would be most honored to work with you.

My belief and approach to therapy begins with the idea that humans are generally self- correcting. This follows the teaching of both Carl Jung and Milton Erickson. We can get stuck for a variety of reasons and if able to get past that point, it can lead to us moving in a healthier direction. I believe that our value systems are extremely important to finding direction and solutions. I have studied comparative religions and cultures to be able to understand and work with a wide variety of people. I have worked in many different settings with a wide range of cultures and values. Currently my greatest strength is in working with individuals and couples. I started my career by creating and running an outpatient clinic as part of a runaway and homeless youth shelter. I did this for my first 18 years. We provided case management, individual and family therapy to youth and their families. We did this both in the shelter and in the community. My personal approach includes brief family therapy, problem solving therapy, structural and strategic systems theory, hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioral, communication theory and addiction therapies. I trained and supervised paid staff and graduate students. I worked in conjunction with a local university to conduct research which enabled us to improve our working therapy model and process. During this time, I completed 29 hours towards a PH. D in family therapy. I was offered a fellowship with Washington University's Ph. D program. I worked part time for New Life Christian Counseling, an outpatient therapy group, providing professional Christian therapy. I then worked 18 years for managed care helping members utilize their mental health benefits, providing phone therapy and crisis intervention. My other experiences were in outpatient office settings.
