Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision. You want someone who will listen without judgment, understand what you’re going through, and help you make real changes—not simply tell you to “think positive” or “just let it go.” That’s where I come in. I believe therapy should be a place where you can take off the mask, tell the truth about how you’re feeling, and know that you will be met with compassion—not judgment. My approach combines warmth and genuine connection with practical, evidence-based strategies that you can actually use in your everyday life. As a therapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. We’ll work together to recognize patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, self-doubt, or feeling stuck—and develop healthier ways of responding. But therapy with me isn't about checking boxes or giving you a list of things you should be doing. It’s about you. Your experiences. Your struggles. Your goals. Your story. I’ll meet you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be. If anxiety has you constantly overthinking, if depression has made it difficult to find motivation, or if you’ve spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you’ve forgotten how to take care of yourself, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I want therapy to be a space where you can learn, grow, heal, and ultimately become more confident in your ability to handle life’s challenges. You are not your anxiety. You are not your depression. You are not your worst day. There is more to your story—and I would be honored to help you discover what comes next. If you’re ready to make yourself a priority, I’m ready to walk alongside you.

I have worked in the human service field for approximately 20 years. I have had the pleasure of working with mental health, developmentally disabled and substance abuse populations. I have worked with Assisted Medication Management and active military members and their families. My greatest reward as a therapist is helping my clients explore ways to make the changes in their lives that will allow them to look forward to the future with hope. I believe that we all need someone to talk with who will really listen and accept us as we are, without judgment. I provide my clients with that warm, nonjudgmental environment—a safe place to explore the issues that may be preventing them from living the life they want. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Supervisor. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Therapy and psycho-education extensively. My experience includes working with clients dealing with divorce and single-parenting, addictions, grief, women’s issues, and mood disorders, among other challenges. I find that my great passion is working with individuals and children.

I am a provisional Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Masters in Social Work from East Carolina University in 2009. I have been providing support to children, adolescences, adults with disabilities, and their families since 2003. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, trauma, Mood Disorders, and ADHD. I also have helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. It’s an honor to be able to come along side others during their journey. I am passionate about helping women, parents raising adolescents and/or foster children, and young adults. It has also been a pleasure supporting foster parents as they learn various behavioral management techniques to best support a child demonstrating challenging behaviors. My counseling style is a strengths-based approach and I use a collaborative problem solving approach to help tackle life’s challenges. But I have learned along the way there is nothing to big for God to help us through. He has taught me I can trust in Him and His plans are greater than my plans.(Jeremiah 28:11, Romans 8:28-29)

Hi, I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the mental health field for the last 40 years. The first part of my career was in in Virginia working as an emergency mental health therapist in a community mental health clinic. I moved to North Carolina 30 years ago. For 16 years I worked as a mental health therapist in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Then I went to work for the military as a mental health therapist working with the Marines and Navy servicemembers for the last 14 years. I also had a part time private practice for 23 years where I primarily worked with couples who were working on their relationship. I did not have much opportunity in my full time job to work with couples which is my passion. I was able to meet with couples in the evening to help them resolve their conflicts and develop positive coping skills as a couple. I am semi-retired and living in Florida now. I love being close to family and the beach. I love working with people to help them achieve their goals. My style is to help you develop the goals you want to change and give you the tools to achieve that goal. It is my privilege and honor to help those who are seeking help for themselves. I see my self as an integrative therapist who utilizes many tools to help my clients. I check my messages several times a day seven days a week and will get back to you within 24 hours or less.

My style is person centered, warm, reflective, and engaging. I believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect. Welcome! If you're looking for support with difficult feelings or challenges in your life then you're in the right place. Life can be really hard. Big plans fall through, relationships breakup, connection in marriage dissolves, family conflict erupts, cycles of anxiety and depression amplify, questions of personal fulfillment pop up, trauma happens... Sometimes figuring out how to get through difficult experiences feels impossible on our own. When we're struggling with something, talking about it helps. That's what I do. I talk with you about whatever you need to talk about. While we talk, I listen and ask questions to understand who you are, what your experience has been like, and what's important to you. We identify and process the roots of the problem that you're going through. And I support you in strategizing how to move forward with your life in ways that are in alignment with your wellbeing. I provide feedback about tools and skills for mental health and self-growth as needed. I believe that people are capable and that everyone deserves to feel respected and heard. Our capabilities get foggy and uncertain when we're emotionally stressed. Let me help clear away the fog so you feel more confident in what to do next. Therapy with me usually takes 1-3 months for clients to feel relief and resolution from their initial issues. I am a licensed clinical social worker in North Carolina with 10 years of experience as a counselor and mediator. I have education, training, and experience in a variety of therapeutic approaches including solution focused, narrative, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and trauma informed therapies. I tailor my approach according to each client's unique goals and needs. My job as your therapist is to empower your strengths and support your wellbeing through whatever challenge life presents. If you're ready, let’s get started!
