Miranda Metcalf
Hello! My name is Miranda Metcalf (she/her) and I am an LPC with over 10 years of being independently licensed, and have been in the mental health and substance abuse fields, in different capacities, for about 23 years. In my personal life I am a mother, animal lover and avid reader. I have pretty diverse interests and am curious about everything. I believe we are never too old or too young to learn, grow and change, if we are willing to put in the work. Professionally, I have worked with clients experiencing difficulties related to trauma, depression, anxiety, ADD, substance abuse and family issues. I have worked with clients ranging in age from 3 years old to in their 80's and enjoy working with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds and lifestyles. I do not believe in judging people for the way they choose to live their lives, or for being true to themselves. My counseling style has previously been described as caring and honest. I believe in treating everyone with mutual respect and am open and honest. I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, as well as many other client centered and humanistic techniques. Each client and family is different and unique, and as such I will tailor my approach to your specific needs. I believe it takes courage and a strong desire to improve your life to seek out help. I also use EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy) to assist with trauma. My clients are a critical part of my treatment plan development as my desire is to assist in their success - effectively working myself out of their lives.
