Elena Gregorio
My name is Elena Gregorio and I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Pennsylvania. I got my master’s degree in social work from West Chester University in 2012 and have been working with individuals and groups ever since, focusing on mental health and/or substance abuse issues. This was a second career for me; I started out with a music degree and teaching elementary schoolers. But as happens to most people, life threw some curve balls and it was time for a change. Perhaps you’re at a curve ball stage yourself and you have come here looking for some support. I would welcome the opportunity to hear your story and see if we are a good fit to set some goals together and start working toward the type of positive changes you would like to see in your life. I am a patient, compassionate, and nonjudgmental person in all of my interactions. I believe in the importance of dignity for all, regardless of background or identity. My style in therapy can be an eclectic one, as one approach does not necessarily fit everyone. I tend to draw from cognitive behavioral, narrative, and mindfulness-based therapies at first and then see if more experiential or varied approaches might work best for you. But we can discuss all of that in more detail, as well as any other questions you may have, as we get to know each other. Therapy does not have to be a scary, intimidating thing to get into! I look forward to hearing more from you.

Katherine (Kate) Schenk
I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania with over 10 years of experience as a therapist working with individuals with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, phobias, co-dependency, addiction, brain injury, trauma and abuse. I am a certified clinical trauma professional and a certified brain injury specialist and I have gained my experience by working in different settings such as correctional environments, in patient and out patient rehabilitation and community based settings. I consider myself to be a theoretically integrated clinician who places value on a client centered approach. I believe that it is important to support individuals with identifying challenges and help them to construct realistic and achievable goals in order to build insight and confidence for success. It is not always easy to ask for help, but you are not alone in your journey.

Welcome. Well, as you might know, there are times when we encounter challenges to the difficulties or changes in our life circumstances. While we are able to resolve some of those challenges on our own or by talking about them with close friends and family members, there are other times when we need some professional help. You may have found yourself in such a situation, so, thank you for reaching out. I am here to help. I am licensed in both Ohio and Pennsylvania, and for over 27 years, I have been helping people of all ages as a professional clinical counselor. I offer a supportive atmosphere so as to help to reduce any feelings of depression, anger, stress or anxiety. I also help to develop more rational, confident ways of thinking. My treatment style is active, instructive, and informative. I use an integrative approach to therapy as I draw primarily upon cognitive-behavioral, family systems and psychodynamic theories as needed. Additionally, I offer strategies for parents who are finding that they are having behavior difficulties with their children. In our first session together, I will most likely be asking you a lot of questions to find out more about you and to more fully understand what you are hoping to accomplish or resolve during our time together. Since counseling has a direction and is goal-oriented, developing a general idea of goals in your therapy with me will set the tone and the focus for the next session, as well as the direction of the counseling process itself. So, if you are ready for some new ways to manage your feelings or behavior and, ultimately, your life, I look forward to working with you.
