Hi! Let me start by telling you a little about myself. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I have 23 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with a culturally diverse population with a variety of mental health challenges. I assist clients with creating goals to improve their mental health and wellness. My counseling style is interactive, non-judgmental and respectful. I have enjoyed the opportunity to help others develop self-awareness, coping skills and behavior modification. I believe the therapeutic process is a partnership between a therapist and an active and willing participant focused on getting to wellness in their individual journey. As we all are complex and individual beings with personal underlying factors, my favored methodology is Integrative Therapy. I believe this method allows the therapist and the participant freedom to explore various aspects of self with varied approaches. If you are ready to take that first step towards change, I am here to support and empower you! Please note that I do not work on the weekends and won't be online. Let’s get started! (Please note: for the present, I am not providing therapy services via the video option on BetterHelp. Due to both ongoing technical problems that interfere with and mitigate the effectiveness of sessions and some mixed feelings about the value of this type of session, I am temporarily restricting the modality options to phone, chat and messaging communications. My apologies to anyone inconvenienced or discouraged from working with me due to this condition; I may resume video sessions in the future.) I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania and a registered, board-certified art therapist (AT-R, B.C.) Since receiving an M.A. from Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions in 2004, I have practiced in a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatry, community residential services and private practice, including my own, which I established in 2010. Over the course of my career, I have worked in residential and inpatient settings, as well as in private practice, with clients dealing with a wide range of often overlapping challenges , including severe mood disorders, substance abuse issues, personality disorders and debilitating thought disorders such as schizophrenia . In private practice, I have been able to focus on work with clients – including adolescents and young adults on the autism spectrum – struggling with problems in living ranging from depression, anxiety and addictive behaviors, as well as family, relationship and career conflicts. Therapy is hard work, for both client and practitioner, and one of my primary sources of inspiration and re-fueling is my immense gratitude and respect for my clients – for their willingness to confront what is difficult, embrace change and do the work necessary to foster growth and self-determination for themselves and therefore also for the benefit of those they work, live, connect with – and love. I believe, based on my experience, that most clients seeking therapy already know a good deal about both the nature of their problems and conflicts and the possible routes to change. But change is difficult, and can be scary and when something is difficult and scary, there is nothing wrong – and a great deal right -about seeking help and a collaborative relationship, rather than trying to achieve some of the most difficult tasks in isolation. . I often visualize the therapist as, ideally, a trustworthy guide walking alongside the client, carrying a lantern and helping to cast light into and illuminating the shadows, with the goal of locating the best and clearest path forward towards a more effective and self-determined life. In attempting this guidance and collaboration, I always try to maintain an attitude of warmth, respect, and compassion. Honesty and trust on the part of both partners is essential, of course. Humor and lightheartedness can, at times, be a significant healing factor as well! My approach is basically a humanistic one, which addresses problems and conflicts through careful and reflective listening and communication, with an underlying focus on the kinds of common concerns -the need and desire for connection, understanding, insight, growth and personally driven change - that most often propel a client towards therapy. As the client, you set our goals, and as part of the therapeutic process, we may make use of techniques and methods derived from established clinical practices, including Cognitive-Behavioral, narrative and expressive therapy techniques. This can be helpful in allowing the therapist to better know the whole person he is working with, rather than just as a collection of “problems” needing to be solved. Creativity, especially in the forms of writing or art, can be tremendously helpful in this regard. I have extensive experience in working with art as a aid to therapy (which can be done, with some limitations, even in a remote context, and requires no "skill" or talent whatsoever) and the exploration of this dynamic route to insight and growth is always available and might be encouraged at times. However, whether these or other techniques or approaches are used is always the result of discussion and agreement between therapist and client. If what I have outlined sounds appealing or promising to you as you explore therapeutic possibilities, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you – please do not hesitate to contact me, and thank you for your time.

My many years in the corporate world as an executive for a significant family business helped prepare me for my work as a professional addictions and substance abuse counseling. Not only did it condition me with the tools of awareness, acceptance and compromise in the face of diversity and difficulties, but also it taught me never to give up: keep looking for options and solutions even in the times of darkest trouble. As an executive managing hundreds of employees it would have been easy for me to assume that my perspective on life was the only one that mattered. Fortunately, my own struggles managing relationship and emotional challenges taught me that everyone has a right to their own perspective and feelings. I endeavor to listen intently to my clients, be open and honest with my feedback and always honor and protect the right of the people I work with to make their own decisions in life. As a former high school teacher, wrestling coach and girls soccer coach, I have experience with teenagers and parents and have helped resolve family conflicts. My work experiences took me on a career path through many states, Oregon, Oklahoma, Arizona and California before returning to our 4th generation family business in Pennsylvania. As such, I have experienced many different cultures and life styles. As a former 20 year board of director of a billion dollar bank, I have experience working and connecting with other business leaders in Pennsylvania. As a counselor, this gives me a unique insight into the world of high finance and connects me with the culture and work ethic of the corporate world. My work in professional counseling and the addictions psychology field in particular gives me an opportunity to practice what I've learned and share those benefits with others. When problems beset us and challenges threaten to overwhelm us, looking for who's to blame is a waste of time. Rather, I've come to realize that the best use of energy and life strategy is to find ways to accept reality, deal with facts without denial and grow into greater levels of maturity as a result. I am no stranger to life transitions and with my counseling skill sets, I make that experience available in creative ways to my clients. I cannot change my clients. Only they can change themselves. My goal as a professional counselor is to help clients find the ways and means to modify their behavior so that they are able to take better care of themselves. My Website is Transitionsamerica.com

I’m a licensed clinical therapist in Pennsylvania with over 30 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, caregiver exhaustion, low self-esteem, and feelings of overwhelm or burnout. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling emotionally drained, stuck in unhealthy patterns, uncertain about relationships or career paths, or struggling to balance everyone else’s needs while losing sight of themselves. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, overthinking, depression, grief and loss, relationship and family stress, divorce, workplace burnout, caregiver exhaustion, self-esteem and boundary challenges, and major life or identity transitions. I also provide LGBTQ+ affirming care and offer non-religious counseling in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. My approach combines Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), strengths-based strategies, and evidence-informed interventions to help clients build clarity, emotional resilience, and forward momentum. Together, we focus on identifying what’s already working, reducing emotional overwhelm, increasing self-awareness, and creating realistic changes that feel sustainable—not forced. Therapy with me is collaborative, supportive, practical, and nonjudgmental. I do not believe therapy is about “fixing” you. Instead, I believe many people already possess important strengths, insight, and resilience, but stress, grief, anxiety, painful experiences, or unhealthy relationship dynamics can make it difficult to access those parts of themselves consistently. Whether you are coping with a painful breakup, navigating divorce, grieving a loss, questioning your next chapter, struggling with people-pleasing or boundaries, or simply wanting to feel more like yourself again, therapy can provide a space to slow down, process what’s happening, and move toward the life you want with greater confidence and self-trust. Reaching out for support takes courage, and you do not have to figure everything out alone. I look forward to working with you.

You’re the one everyone depends on — the strong one, the helper, the person who keeps showing up for others even when you’re running on empty. You carry so much without ever really slowing down, and somewhere between taking care of everyone else’s needs and trying to keep it all together, you may have started losing touch with yourself. Maybe your mind never fully shuts off. Maybe you replay conversations in your head, struggle to set boundaries without guilt, feel emotionally drained in your relationships, or constantly feel pressure to be “okay” even when you’re overwhelmed inside. Even surrounded by people, you may still feel alone in what you’re carrying. If that resonates with you, therapy can be the space where you finally no longer have to hold everything by yourself. As a licensed therapist serving clients in Pennsylvania, I help individuals navigate anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, family conflict, emotional burnout, self-esteem struggles, and life transitions with compassion, honesty, and genuine support. My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive, creating a space where you can breathe, process, heal, and show up exactly as you are — without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. Together, we’ll work to better understand the patterns that are keeping you stuck, build healthier coping skills, strengthen boundaries, improve communication, and help you reconnect with the version of yourself that’s been buried underneath stress, survival mode, and everyone else’s expectations. As a therapist of color, I deeply value the role culture, identity, and lived experiences play in emotional healing. My goal is to help you feel truly seen, emotionally safe, empowered, and supported as you create meaningful and lasting change in your life. You do not have to keep carrying everything alone anymore.

  • Flexible scheduling: Sessions that fit around work, family, or school commitments
