Welcome! My name is Kelly Lambie and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania. I have a Master's degree from Walden University in Mental Health Counseling and am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. I am married and have one child. Currently, I work in a private practice setting with ages 14-85 and in a multitude of areas. Because of the wide age range, I have helped my clients through depression and anxiety, school and relationship struggles, and much more! It is rewarding to watch people meet their goals and find happiness from within. I have an eclectic approach to counseling with a combination of Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I believe in creating a safe place to have conversations, and that anyone can benefit from counseling. I've worked in private practice as a mental health counselor since 2010. I often draw from my three years of experience as a behavioral counselor working in homes with families and my eight years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician. I have sat with people through some of the worst days of their lives. Because of this, I learned patience and empathy. Experiencing trauma and crisis first-hand has given me a unique understanding of how the world spins. Together, we will set goals and find ways to achieve them! I look forward to chatting with you!

25 years offering treatment

Hi, I have been counseling for over 25 years, having worked across both inpatient and outpatient settings, with adults and children, and with individuals and families/groups in relation to both mental health and substance abuse issues. I have a master's from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania's M.A. in Clinical Psychology program and also have earned a post-master's certificate in Psychology from Northcentral University. I plan to complete my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology over the next 3 years. I have worked under the direct supervision of psychologists for years, conducting varied psychological testing and report writing. In addition, I have taught at the College/University level for 20 years, both part-time and full-time, in Psychology, Sociology, and Human Services. I truly love the social and behavioral sciences--so many fascinating ideas! My approach is friendly, straightforward, and solution focused. My role, really, is to assist you in reaching your goals in life. I am person-centered as we are each unique in our strengths and weaknesses. I am very eclectic in my counseling approach, drawing from the many interesting perspectives in the helping field--whether psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, or systems-based. These approaches are often very helpful in assisting folks with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, anger management, goal attainment, relationship issues, and more. On a personal level, I enjoy varied martial arts training as well as other mind-body disciplines--such as Yoga and T'ai Chi. I do often incorporate mindfulness training into counseling as can help folks with issues related to anxiety, attention, mood, relaxation, sleep, etc. Such practices can also become a bridge to self-development and spirituality, for those so interested. So, please connect with me on any questions or concerns you may have. I'd like to get to know you, and see how I may be of assistance. Sincerely, Richard States, MA, LPC

I am licensed in Pennsylvania with 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with motivation, self-esteem, and confidence, career difficulties, & coping with life changes. I also have experience working with executive and professional coaching. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. My Counseling focus is person-centered in that I believe that each of us is naturally motivated to want to achieve a high level of psychological functioning. I am genuinely interested in my client's wellbeing and believe that the helping process starts where they may be stuck or need help in moving forward. This is accomplished by listening and being non-judgmental. Open ended conversations led by you ensures that we are moving in the right direction. Goal setting on a larger scale is encouraged, but the pathway to meeting the goal or goals is to start small and show that moving forward is possible and can be a positive experience. Acknowledging feelings that come along with change is of great importance. Feeling anxiety, fear, or guilt is a normal part of making changes to reach goals. Focusing on your positive qualities and having realistic expectations of your abilities can get the results you are wanting. Finding out what is important to you and helping you become more self-aware of how to accomplish what you want of life will be the focus of our therapeutic relationship. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
