11/28/25 It is winter in the mountains. I have turned off video scheduling availability. If you want video please just let me know. I am into frequent power outage season and video is not always a possibility. I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified trauma professional. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BSW in social work, a certificate in Addictions, and an Master's in clinical social work. I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, borderline personality disorder and depression; clients with a history of physical and psychological abuse, self harm, sexual abuse, and other traumas. I utilize a combination of traditional talk therapy, education on how trauma affects our brains, and implementation of practical tools and action steps to achieve the changes you want to make in your life. I believe talk therapy is helpful but that it takes action to reprogram your brain's reactions to triggers. Most clients I have worked with who are experiencing any form of anxiety believe they are crazy. I assure you it is not crazy. Your brain is meant to function in the way it does to protect you. I also wholeheartedly believe physical and mental health are intertwined. I will ask you to experiment with new techniques and reactions to triggers and difficult relationships. I provide the knowledge of tools and techniques but you are the expert on you. Generally, I start with getting to know you and what you want to work on. We move into education on your specific diagnoses and on brain function and how we can reprogram. We begin taking small steps using tools I will teach you. All I need is for you to be willing to experiment with new techniques and reactions to difficult situations and people, and to let me know if the specific technique does not work for you so we can try another. Those steps have been as small as having clients who experience agoraphobia sit in a different room for 5 minutes, simple but not easy. I will also focus on your physical health and activity level. There is much research that shows some type of physical activity is helpful. I myself have experienced this. I am a hiker, a former activity leader for the Florida Trail, and wilderness first aid certified. I hike, when I am inactive I definitely experience mood changes. If hiking is not your thing that is okay. We will find something that works for you. 10/01/25 If you have requested to work with me.. I am not refusing you. For whatever reason I receive the message and then clients are removed before I have 10 minutes to respond. Most recent disappeared in 6 minutes while I was reading the client info.

Hello! My name is Lindsey and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including: inpatient addiction treatment, working with survivors of human trafficking and seeing clients in a private practice setting. I received my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and my Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. We will work together, utilizing the resources and strengths that you bring, to help you to identify and obtain your goals. I integrate a number of effective approaches in my work, though this often depends on the needs of the individual. Central to my approach is the belief each of us is designed to seek deep connection with one another and that life’s difficulties are often caused by unmet psychological and emotional needs. These needs can often be identified during the therapy process and lead to more fulfilling relationships and overall increased well-being. Areas of specialty include treatment of trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, adoption related concerns, self-esteem, and those generally feeling stuck in life. I have experience in treating children, adolescents, and adults in a safe and nurturing setting. Please contact me to discuss how you can work towards finding the life that you deserve.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I began my journey into the helping professions in 1995 at Stetson University. In 1999 I graduated from that institution with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Music. After a brief hiatus to "catch my breath", I returned to school at the University of Central Florida. I completed my studies at UCF in 2002, graduating with a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology. Following a 2 year post-Masters internship and a wealth of real world experience I was awarded my license in Mental Health Counseling in 2007. My approach to therapy varies from person to person. Some may benefit from a Cognitive Behavioral perspective to tackle negative thoughts and emotions while others may benefit from a more Existential approach. My focus is always on the needs and wants of the individual seeking help. Regardless of the method we employ, I also view therapy as a process that should be productive. A person receiving counseling should be able to see increased insight, more effective coping strategies, clarity, better decision-making skills or a combination of these. The counseling I provide is typically a combination of multiple modalities, including Solution Focused Therapy. The core values that drive my philosophy with regard to therapy are choice, authenticity, honesty, cultural awareness and positive regard. You are a unique individual. There has never been and will never be another you. Who you are is determined by a host of factors including genetics, upbringing , your heritage and the culture in which you were raised. You've taken an amazing first step by coming to BetterHelp.com. If you like, we can take the next steps on your journey together. I look forward to meeting you!
