10 years defines my experience providing dual diagnosis mental health related counseling services to adolescents, adults and elders in a variety of inpatient/outpatient services in the criminal justice system in conjunction with integrated clinical health systems services. This experience gave me a new direction and way of life consisting of personal growth and change I would like to share with you. Our goal is to share my experiences with those who seek to enhance their level of personal growth and change. Serving adolescents, adults, elders, couples, families and groups with my training in an eclectic variety of treatment modalities, the actual counseling approach with a given client is determined by your preference and personal goals. With the hope that your goals will center around the self discovery of personal strengths and yielding an increase in self esteem you will realize that your integrity is the most valuable asset about yourself. Upon this discovery you will be able to share with others as you become an extension of the counseling process. My theory is when people have hope and learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs and attitudes they create the biology of courage. By normalizing stress people are free to experience change. In Relationship focused therapy the counselor will identify strengths by asking family members to take note of the family dynamics they want to maintain The counselor will look for exceptions to the problem by asking couples to recount times when the problem did not occur and to account for why, to formulate a solution and highlight strengths. Couples will review worksheets and experience discoveries by working together to identify strengths and cultural differences. In my experience within the past 10 years couples will experience cohesion within the family unit in which they will find new meaning and purpose. Couples will set goals that identifies a renewed value driven direction as they discover what they want to work towards and what is really important to them. At Franciccan University I was made aware and adapted my Christian basesd counseling approach to center around the Eleven Human Emotions that describe the pleasure, appetite or human emotions. The goal to acquire the good through Love Desire and Joy and to avoid the evil of Hate Aversion and Sadness. These emotions make up the heart or inner core of mans emotional life. For difficult issues it is wise to recognize the Utilitatian or assertive emotions of Hope Courage and Anger versus Despair, Sadness and Fear. These Emotions give us the energy necessary to overcome obstacles that separate us from the things that are hard to get and what we really want. Clients are encouraged to engage in each component of the Eleven Human Emotions that will give them clarity and a renewed realtionship with the Holy Spirit thus gaining compassion for themselves and others. What do you have to lose and you have everything to gain by trying!

Hello, and welcome to my virtual office! I would first like to acknowledge your strength and courage in taking this step toward making your mental health and wellness a priority. To tell you a bit about my background, I am a licensed therapist in FL, MA, OR, WA, and NH with over 10 years experience working with a variety of populations as I have strived to assist clients on their journey toward hope, growth, and healing. I am also well-versed in providing teletherapy services,. I would describe my style as laid back and conversational in nature. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership, in which the therapeutic alliance sets the foundation for successful outcomes. As an integrated therapist, I reject a “one size fits all” approach. I draw from various modalities as necessitated by the presenting issue, and believe that techniques should be tailored to individualized needs. I seek to minimize “labeling,” and strive to make a genuine human connection with clients as they share their unique worldview and experiences. Ultimately, I believe it is the client who is the expert of his or her own life. It is my goal to provide an empathetic space where clients feel safe and empowered to be their authentic selves and live in their truth. I look forward to working with you, and believe that together, we can foster positive change in your life.

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I am licensed in Oregon and have worked across a variety of settings, including hospital-based care, private practice, and higher education, where I taught for over 25 years. I work with clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, confidence and self-esteem issues, life transitions, and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I have found that while symptoms are important to address, lasting change often comes from understanding the root causes behind them — the underlying patterns, beliefs, and experiences that continue to shape how we think, feel, and relate. My therapy style is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where clients feel respected, understood, and safe to explore what is really going on beneath the surface. I draw from evidence-based approaches and tailor our work to meet your unique needs and goals, moving at a pace that feels right for you. Seeking support takes courage, especially when life feels heavy or uncertain. If you are looking for a thoughtful, grounded approach that focuses not only on coping but on meaningful, lasting change, I would be honored to support you in this process. I look forward to working with you.

I'm a therapist that focuses on techniques and strategies that work, and I see progress with my clients pretty quickly. I'm licensed in Oklahoma with 14 years of experience as a therapist and over 17 years of experience in mental health. I have experience in helping clients with executive functioning (ADHD and autism), stress and anxiety, queer/lgbtq+ issues, Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID/multiple personalities), & coping with life changes. I use many therapeutic models or perspectives, primarily focusing on how systemic and institutional barriers affect mental, emotional, and behavioral health and well-being. I'm queer-friendly. I strongly believe anyone and everyone can benefit from therapy. I do not use or believe in the "medical model" of mental health, so I do not attempt to "cure" "mental illness", but recognize that mental health is complicated and "mental illness" is mostly a survival response.

I am a licensed professional counselor in Oregon with 4 years of professional work experience as a vocational counselor (in another state), and thirty years in human services. I have been an Occupational Therapy Assistant, an Activity Therapist, a Counselor at a Job Corps site, a Disability Program Navigator, a benefits planning specialist...and more. I have experience with work related matters, motivation, self esteem, confidence, learning and other disabilities and differences, & coping with life changes. I am interested in compassion fatigue, and believe strongly in self-care as a strategy for successful living. I have an inclusive approach. I treat people with respect and compassion. More about my approach: First of all, I encourage everyone to develop a set of self care skills. Not everyone wants to try it, but I encourage it and I encourage people to tailor the skills and plan to their own needs, preferences, and tolerance. In general, I believe people do better in life if they get adequate rest, avoid alcohol and drugs, get exercise and fresh air, eat properly, learn and practice mindfulness activities, kick back with activities they enjoy, and limit exposure to trauma in their everyday lives. I encourage creative expression of emotions, such as painting, drawing, journaling, singing, dancing...and more. I encourage people to turn their attention toward that which they can do something about, which is pretty much themselves and their own reactions to things and their own behavior. I acknowledge the role trauma plays in our lives. I am not completely focused on it, although sometimes it needs to be dealt with, and especially if it's happening in the here and now, for example an abusive husband. A lot of times working through the effects of the trauma can do a lot to help the person find insight and a path forward that does not give the trauma too much power. I like to help people differentiate between what's happened in the past and what's happening now. Often what's happening now brings up memories of the past, and it's helpful to learn and remember how the two sets of events/behaviors/experiences are similar --and how they are different. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage. I am glad you are starting the process!

I help adults and teens improve focus, calm, and emotional balance—especially for ADHD, anxiety, depression, sleep issues, trauma, autism, chronic stress, and pain-related self-regulation. My approach combines personalized counseling with mindfulness and optional brain-based tools (biofeedback) that help you train attention and calm in real time—during and between sessions. We can work on immediate concerns, long-term goals, or deeper patterns. Many clients notice changes in the first week for sleep, stress, and attention, and the skills build over time. It’s similar to learning a skill like riding a bike—the changes become more natural and lasting. The tools we use support improvement not just in sessions, but while working, studying, or relaxing in daily life. You also keep these tools long-term so you can continue building focus and balance independently. I often work with people who want to become more self-directed and consistent—including professionals, entrepreneurs, and creative individuals who feel stuck between high ability and inconsistent focus or anxiety. We can: talk through your situation in a collaborative way, or use structured tools and a brain-based assessment to understand how your attention, stress, and energy patterns work—and improve them Background and experience: I have over 16 years of experience and have taught attention and regulation tools at: University of Minnesota Medical Center Minnesota Council for the Gifted and Talented Learning Disabilities Association of Minnesota I also developed a biofeedback training program used within a large Minnesota health system. I have worked extensively with: ADHD and attention challenges anxiety and panic trauma autism spectrum conditions chronic health and pain conditions veterans and high-stress professions Approach My style is practical, structured, and supportive. I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and somatic strategies, while helping you build: better focus and mental clarity emotional regulation improved sleep more consistent performance at work or school stronger self-direction and follow-through The goal is not just insight—but real-world change you can feel during your day What to expect: Clients often choose this approach if they want: tools they can use between sessions a clearer understanding of how their brain responds to stress and focus a balance of conversation and structured strategies
