Karin Fils-Aime
Hi! I am Karin, a Licensed Therapist in Pennsylvania. This has been my life long dream, to be a counselor. When other kids were playing house or school, I was playing psychiatrist - though I am sure I didn't know how to spell it then! I used to write letters to my cousins that read more like a Dear Abby advice columnist than a kid's communication with their bestie. I poured over advice columns in teen magazines like, "was my face red..." and never cared about the current fashions as much as "could this marriage be save?"! So here I am, years later, living out my passion and realizing that I don't have the advice, nor do I want to! But that I have a listening spirit and clinical skill that can be of help to anyone that needs it. I lean toward Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but simply put, that means that there is a connection between what you think and then how you feel. So if you don't like how you feel, we look at what you are saying to yourself and if that is helping you to feel the way you want to feel or not! Pretty simple really. I want to help people feel as good as they possibly can right now... with the circumstances they have and with the past they have lived through. And it is possible to have lived through some really bad things and still have peace and serenity in your life. If you are not convinced, that could be a good reason why you need to work with me. Looking forward to connecting with you.

I earned an MA in Community Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and have 15+ years of experience working with a wide range of people providing individual, couples, group, and skills training sessions. I have worked with many different mental health issues, such as depression, self-injury, anxiety, PTSD, borderline personality disorder, gender dysphoria, LGBTQIA+ issues, and adjustment to life changes. I also have experience working with dually diagnosed individuals and those coping with substance use issues. I work from a client-centered, judgment free approach combining aspects of DBT, CBT, Personal Medicine, and Mindfulness. I am willing to meet a person where they are at in their journey. I am a guide on your journey. I do not have all the answers, but am willing to work with you to build a life worth living. I do not believe in labeling people as we are all just humans at the end of the day. I empower my clients to make safe, healthy, and effective decisions to better their lives. I use positivity and skills training to help people improve their self-esteem, self-confidence, and overall outlook on life. I use a conversational style to work on the issues that are important to you. Change can be scary, but I believe that by taking small steps everyone has the ability within themselves to change for the better. You have already taken the first step by considering therapy. I would love to work with you toward your goals and help you to see the world from a different perspective. Change your thinking, and you will change your world. I look forward to walking the path toward a happier and healthier life with you.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. I have worked in the mental health field for 10 years. I have worked in an RTF, as a crisis intervention specialist, was a paraprofessional for a therapeutic emotional support classroom, a school-based outpatient counselor, and a partial hospitalization therapist. I have worked with a variety of mental health diagnosis, at times with individuals experiencing mental health and substance concerns. I am certified in TARGET and have a Play Therapy Certificate. I have utilized Sand Tray therapy when working with children. I utilize CBT, DBT, Solution-focused and some motivational interviewing when working with clients that are adolescent and older. I strive to be warm and inviting and interacting in sessions that are more like conversations. Each individual is their own individual, meaning not one treatment will work for all. I strive to be the hope for individuals when they struggle to see the hope that things can be better for themselves. Individuals who seek help are brave and courageous, as taking the first step is the hardest. Change takes time and courage, and if you are wanting things to change and be better for yourself, I look forward to meeting with you and working together.

Donald "Don" Fountain
I have been an educator and counselor for over 40 years with a vast amount of experience in a wide variety of areas. I retired from education in 2017 after spending 27 years as a high school counselor serving as the department chair for many of those years. I have also worked in the private sector as a Licensed Professional Counselor during those same 40 plus years, retiring in 2022. I retired to take care of my wife who was ill. Unfortunately, she passed on April 30 of that same year. I have worked in several counseling practices with almost all ages, specializing in adolescent and adult issues. I have also taught in graduate schools helping to prepare students to become counselors. Most recently I have been the owner of a preschool program serving children from six weeks to sixth grade. On a more personal side, my wife and I were married just short of 41 years. We had five children, three boys and two girls. I am also a proud grandfather of ten grandchildren. Unfortunately, my youngest son passed away on September 2, 2025. In spite of my losses over the past few years, I consider my life to be blessed, and I thank God every day. As a counselor I try to empower my clients to find the answers within themselves. I genuinely care about people and try to give them the tools to lead their most productive lives. I use a variety of techniques geared to the client I am working with at the time. In today's ever-changing world it is imperative to find balance and grounding in our day to day lives. It is my hope that I may be able to help with that. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
