Dr. Fredric Richmond
Welcome. The fact that you are here tells me you have the courage and motivation it takes to reach out for help, I want to assure you from this moment you are no longer alone. I am able to help you navigate this troubling and stressful time. My name is Fred Richmond, PhD, a graduate of Temple University, and the University of Michigan, licensed Psychologist with a multi decade career in both inpatient and outpatient settings overseeing the care of adults with difficult emotional and behavioral diagnoses. My theoretical approach is both client-centered and cognitive behavioral oriented. My priority is hearing, and I mean really listening to what you think and feel about the things that are troubling you. I will help you develop strategies that will both alleviate your immediate distress and help you gain new perspectives in dealing with challenges as they arise. You have come this far, I urge you to take the second step, first by trusting your decision to reach out, now to trust me to hear and help.

Michael Zwizanski
If you are having a hard time and thinking about talking to someone, then now is the time to begin therapy. Hello, I am Michael Zwizanski, a licensed individual and relationship therapist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In my work, I seek to make a connection that will cultivate a safe, judgement-free space to work through challenging issues & promote self-discovery. My stance in life and in my practice is anti-racist, sex positive, LGBTQ+ competent and gender affirming. I recognize my privilege as a white male professional and strive to position myself as an equal collaborator in the processes of growth and change within my clients. Coming from an entertainment industry background, I have worked extensively with artists, musicians, actors and entrepreneurs and understand the creative process, along with the self-determination that pushes it forward and the self-doubt that can hold it in stagnation. Reaching out for support is not easy. I commend you on taking the first step toward a more compassionate and insightful understanding of yourself and thank you for putting your trust in me to accompany you through that journey.

Helen Cook
A part of each person already knows the solution to the issues that arise. Often that part has gone into hiding because of trauma that has occurred. It takes courage and sometimes a trusting relationship to allow that part to share. My name is Helen Cook. I'm a licensed mental health counselor in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. I have worked with adolescents, couples and adults during my 12 years as a counselor. My training as a nurse with 21 years in the Army, a biology teacher for 11 years and a WW (Weight Watchers) coach for 20 years has also impacted my counseling skills. Working with couples using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), training in EMDR, Brainspotting and hypnotherapy have given me many tools to help others. Mind-Body connection is also very important and I strive to identify and work this connection as often as necessary to help people heal.

Cheryl Nelson
I am a board certified, Licensed Professional Counselor ((LPC), in the state of Pennsylvania. My background is in Community Mental Health. I have worked with adults, adolescents and children for more than 10 years in school, home and outpatient settings, both in person and virtually. I have experience working with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, loss, relationship issues and trauma. My therapeutic approaches are primarily Client Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. As a Client Centered Therapist, I utilize active listening, compassion, empathy and non-judgement to meet my clients where they are, help them identify their challenges, and develop a plan to help them achieve their goals. Cognitive Behavioral Therapists help clients explore the connection between their thoughts, feeling and actions. I generally check messages here a few times per day and respond as quickly as I can. My goal is to respond within 24 hours. I do appreciate your patience when it takes a bit longer at times as I may be tending to other clients, or professional or personal responsibilities. I thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of helping you to achieve your goals.

Therapy is important for everyone, even when we think we have it all together. Therapy is essential when we find ourselves losing our joy, hitting our breaking points, and struggling with the day to day. I look forward to meeting and connecting with you! I believe therapy offers clients an opportunity to have a consistent space to prioritize your mental health. My experience as a fat, Jewish, white queer woman informs how I interact with the world. My training and experience in social work provides a widened lens to view mental health distress as part of systems of oppression, shame, and rage. I created my practice, mk therapy, in order to provide a space that believes in affirming and celebrating queer and trans identities. I specialize in working with fat identified folks who are in recovery and healing from fatphobic familial and cultural structures. I have additional interests in working with people coming into queer and trans identities later in life, intergenerational and ancestral trauma, as well as religious and spiritual trauma. Our unique internal worlds also impact our mental health and the intuitive ways in which we navigate trauma and life challenges. It is my belief in embracing the complexity of our individual and collective identities that informs my style of therapy.
