Norma Clark
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and in Louisiana with over 12 years of experience in individual and group therapy, primarily in crisis and trauma. I have worked with clients of varying diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, psychosis, as well as substance abuse and dual diagnosis. Most of my clients have been adults, but, in addition, I have over two years of experience working with families, including couples, parents, children, and chronically suicidal teens. I have used all kinds of creative interventions, including art, music, animal-assisted, Tai Chi, yoga, mindfulness, writing, and life narrative. My primary goal is to help you identify, manage, and work through any emotional or behavioral problems that impede your quality of life. My role as a therapist is not to judge, but rather to listen and provide support while you work to face problems head-on. I will guide you to navigate to the root cause of your personal crisis, while learning valuable coping skills that will help you stabilize your mood and behaviors
Kathryn Robinson
I live in Texas and possess an unobstructed Texas professional counseling (LPC) license. I obtained a Master’s degree in Counseling and an undergraduate degree in psychology. I have worked for a mental health facility for six years and obtained experience in crisis, psycho-social rehabilitation, received training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and received a certification of training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I have worked with people of various ages and development. I have extensive use of the DSM IV and V. I have experience in working with those who have or have had substance abuse problems, and I have worked in two residential, judicial dual diagnosis centers. Dual diagnosis means these individuals not only have a substance abuse problem, but they have a diagnosable mental illness. There is continuous research and study, and I continue to search for arenas to expand and update my experience and knowledge in counseling techniques and in mental health. I have an extreme passion to see improvement, empowerment, support and progress not only in my clients but also in myself. I cannot help my client if I do not have those qualities myself. I am a believer in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and do not fear using Biblical principles in my counseling practice when requested. My main clinical approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I also adopt other techniques from other approaches such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Gestalt, Person-Centered (Rogerian), and Integrative/Holistic. I am a firm believer that every person is composed of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual facets, and each facet has an effect on the other aspects of the person. I have counseled individuals who have received such diagnoses as schizophrenia, bipolar, major depressive disorder, borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, anxiety adjustment disorder to name a few. My counseling style is down-to-earth, warm, and nonthreatening. However, I will set boundaries, and I can be firm regarding those boundaries. I will correct anything that enhances negativity or the stigma that seems to accompany mental illness. I also believe in treating my clients the way I want to be treated. It is my belief that everyone has the right to a more content and rewarding life. If you are brave enough to face the issues that have kept you from these goals, then I am proud that you have chosen me to stand by your side to help you reach your goals. I look forward to working with you!
Laronne James
Hi there! My name is Laronne (la-Ron) and I have been involved in several aspects of the mental health field for fifteen years. I am a Texan and currently work in a suburb of Dallas. I have a partner of 17 years and a 33 year old son. I began my journey as a criminal justice addictions professional and worked with a variety of clients to include those with intellectual disabilities who had been charged with a variety of crimes as well as federal parolees who are having issues with substance abuse. I also facilitated a group for high school kids who had tested positive for (mostly) marijuana during random testing. I worked with people with autism and intellectual disabilities from 2004 through 2017 working closely with psychiatrists and performed as a team leader. While working on obtaining my license I worked in a psychiatric hospital in the intensive outpatient program during my internship. After obtaining my license I sought employment with a social service agency so that I could work with a wide variety of people with a wide range of concerns. I enjoy working with different cultures and subcultures and most often work with people with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, past trauma and those dealing through life changes such as grief, disability, and retirement, forced or otherwise. Although an existentialist at heart, my therapeutic approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I feel this approach works very well for a myriad of issues and is relatively short term and is an action therapy which provides working tools and is client driven.

I believe that when people gain new insight and practical coping skills, they often begin to see their world in more hopeful, empowering ways. In therapy, I offer a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where you can explore your experiences without judgment. Life can be confusing and challenging, yet it also holds opportunities for growth—and even unexpected silver linings. I provide people of all backgrounds with a grounded, nonjudgmental space to be genuine, slow down, and look honestly at who they are and how they arrived here. Therapy with me is not about fixing who you are—it’s about understanding yourself deeply enough to decide where growth is needed and what no longer fits your life today. As a licensed therapist in Louisiana and Texas, with over two decades of experience, I actively challenge clients in thoughtful, respectful ways to increase psychological flexibility. This includes learning how to reframe and reconstruct long-held viewpoints, examine patterns shaped by life history, and shift perspectives that may once have been protective but are no longer serving you. Your past matters—not as something to stay stuck in, but as a guide for recognizing what you are ready to keep, what needs to change, and what belongs in the archive rather than your present lifestyle. I believe meaningful change requires honest self-reflection and full acceptance of who you have been, without shame or avoidance. From that grounded place, we can identify your current stage of change, clarify what growth looks like for you now, and move intentionally toward it—whether that involves radical acceptance, empowered decision-making, or actively choosing a new direction. I work best with adults in their mid-twenties and older who are ready to engage thoughtfully in the therapeutic process. My clinical strengths include relationship dynamics, empowerment, identity development, perspective-shifting, and helping clients navigate periods of transition, breakthrough, or recalibration with clarity and purpose.
