The issues I work with in therapy are mind-body issues. I do not have a mental illness approach. What is good for the body is good for the brain and vice versa. My openness and inclusivity influence my approach to therapy. I do not judge. I accept. I am more interested in your uniqueness than your diagnosis and I expect a full recovery in treatment. I fit well with expectations from a person who is here on their own volition, is willing and open to change, and is trying to develop resiliency in life, problem-solving without drama in relationships, and self-respect. I try my best to provide a secure space and collaborate. I take notes and I read them at the end of the session. As opposed to homework, I offer experiments to try between conversations. Depending on preference, I can be direct in helping people identify their goals by collaborating on a treatment plan. I can also be non-direct and identify our goals through the flow of the conversation. A first session with me begins with a casual greeting and formalities regarding confidentiality, rights, and risk assessment questions, followed by a lead-in question to get the ball rolling.

Many of the clients I work with come to therapy carrying challenges that are rooted in relationships—past or present. While trauma can occur in many ways, it most often develops within the context of our connections with others. My ideal clients are those who sense that their life isn’t where they want it to be, even if they can’t yet identify the “how” or “why.” The beliefs they’ve developed about their experiences can lead to distorted views of themselves and their worth, making it difficult to form the deep, meaningful relationships they desire. In our work together, my first goal is to build the trust and rapport needed for a genuine therapeutic relationship. From there, I’ll help you identify what needs to change and support you in taking the steps necessary to create that change—while also holding you accountable in a compassionate, encouraging way. Many people are used to mistaking criticism for motivation, especially from themselves, but that pattern can shift. I truly love what I do, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where you can feel grounded, safe, and fully yourself. Together, we’ll address the work ahead in a way that feels both manageable and empowering. If you’re ready to begin your path toward healing, I’m ready to walk that journey with you. I look forward to meeting you and getting started.

I have an extensive "toolbox" of resources and will encourage my clients to build one as well. I am genuine and that will be evident the first time we meet. Allow me to help put 'life' back into living with a new perspective. I do not provide faith based therapy nor prayer in session. Rae Carnevale
I am a licensed mental health clinician based in Southern Colorado with over seven years of professional experience. I support clients navigating stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, depression, career challenges, grief, and identity exploration. My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based modalities, including CBT, DBT skills, and solution-focused strategies. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can share your thoughts and feelings openly and explore what matters most to you. I currently offer live messaging appointments paired with asynchronous messaging support. This format can help reduce common barriers to treatment by increasing flexibility, allowing clients to engage in therapy in real time while also having space to reflect and respond at their own pace between sessions. It can support continuity of care during busy schedules, reduce missed appointments due to time constraints, and make it easier to access support during moments when scheduled sessions may not be feasible. It also allows clients time to process thoughts more fully, which can be especially helpful for those who benefit from reflection before responding. For individuals who experience anxiety about traditional talk therapy, live messaging sessions can feel less intimidating and more structured. Many clients find it easier to express themselves in writing rather than speaking in real time, which can reduce performance pressure, help slow down overwhelming emotions, and allow for more thoughtful communication. The written format can also provide a sense of emotional safety and distance that makes it easier to begin discussing difficult topics, especially early in the therapeutic process. I believe that every person’s story is unique, and I work with clients to build self-awareness, resilience, and practical tools for managing life’s challenges. Therapy is a journey, and I am here to support and empower you every step of the way. My sessions are available in the evenings on weekdays and weekends to help make therapy more accessible for busy lifestyles.
