Good morning/afternoon/evening! You are a brave individual to have identified a problematic issue/issues in your life, and seek assistance to make changes that will move you toward the person you want to be. My name is Gretta, I am an LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor, and it is an honor to be considered as a potential partner on your journey. I am a single mother of 5 children. I have 4 sons and 1 daughter. My oldest is 16 and my youngest is 6. I was raised in Southeast Idaho and have lived in Wyoming for 13 years. I enjoy camping, hiking, hunting, gardening, canning, crocheting/knitting, reading, writing, and being outside as much as possible. I am a Wyoming and Idoah based Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 5 years experience working with clients dealing with ADHD, trauma, depression, anxiety/panic attacks, life changes, relationship challenges, family conflicts, and parenting issues. My style of therapy is warm and personal. I work by getting to know you as a person since you are the expert on your own life. Together, we can jointly come up with goals and solutions that are going to work for you. I will treat you with sensitivity, respect, and warmth by getting to know you as a unique individual. I like to use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I work with you to set goals and homework assignments each week to help you gain awareness and learn different ways to look at life and communication and challenges. We will work through different life experiences and situations and trials you have been through to help you recognize what you have been through, process it, and work on moving forward with the knowledge you have learned from your trials.. Finally, I view the therapeutic alliance as a partnership requiring mutual trust, respect, honesty, communication, and commitment to do the work. Hopefully, what I have shared here will help you select the best fit for a therapist. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

7 years of experience as a mental health therapist

I am a licensed clinical social worker/therapist licensed in the states of Idaho, Montana, and Arkansas. I have 7 years of licensed experience and many years prior of serving people in different capacities. The majority of my licensed experience has been within a hospital setting for adults and adolescents with severe mental health issues. I have seen firsthand the incredible change that often occurs with a person given the opportunity to tell his/her/their story, be genuinely listened to, and be guided to the innate wisdom to wellness that already resides within. For the last two years, I have also been leading a group at my local library to teach mental health wellness skills to community members and providing a setting for the members to practice these new wellness skills. I really enjoy teaching skills that can be applied to all sorts of situations in life, no matter what your story or circumstances. My counseling style is based on being present with a client, not just hearing, but truly listening and being a witness to another. I will want to know what exactly a client wants to learn or resolve and I will provide guidance and insight and teach skills accordingly. I will also introduce ideas I consider foundational to wellness, including mindfulness, really leaning in and feeling our emotions, centeredness and grounding, self-love, the difference between surviving skills and thriving skills, and exploring beliefs and how they create our life stories. My approach combines client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness therapy as we weave together practical behavioral approaches with deep insights into why we are the way we are and how this can transform. I am also a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner (CECP). The Emotion Code is a form of energy healing. Its premise is that we can trapped unprocessed emotions in as a "stuck" frequency in our energy bodies. As a practitioner, I can assist you in identifying trapped emotions, discovering when they were trapped and in response to what event, and then releasing the stuck energy with intention. You can learn more at Discover Healing (discoverhealing.com). You can view my certification at https://discoverhealing.com/certified-practitioners/. The BetterHelp platform offers you a great opportunity to try out an energy healing modality. I have the flexibility to combine Emotion Code work with a more traditional talk therapy session, or focus solely on Emotion Code one day and talk therapy another day. Give it a try! It takes courage to choose an opportunity for growth and change. I am here to join you on such a journey.

Good day to you! My name is Jessica and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor. After earning my bachelor’s degree in psychology, I found myself working with animals while working toward my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience with inpatient psychiatric clients, case management for federal inmates, and as a counselor in community-based non-intensive outpatient clinics. My passion for counseling was born from my own experiences and those of my family. I was raised by two US Marines so I’ve lived all over. I spent eight years working in veterinary medicine, and worked with my animal patients, but also their caretakers. No other environment has taught me more about empathy, the power of nonverbal communication, and how precious life is, even at its end. My approach to counseling is based in existentialism and the belief that purpose and meaning lead to a person’s most fulfilling life. I especially enjoy helping individuals who struggle with self-limiting beliefs, persistent and severe mental illness, and history of trauma find healing, as well as practical methods to cope with stressors and build a purposeful and satisfying life. I’m particularly driven to help clients who suffer from chronic self-destructive behaviors such as self-harm and suicidal ideations.

My name is Garlena Rumsey, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Idaho. I am a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) in Oregon. I live in a border town in Idaho and Oregon is 4 miles away. I specialize in trauma with a certification of Clinical Counselor Trauma Professional 1 (CCTP-1). I work with a variety of diagnoses: PTSD, depression, anxiety, fears, abuse, substance abuse, and sexuality issues. Populations include adolescents, young adults, adults, the elderly, LGBTQ, sex offenders, and the developmentally challenged. I have worked with adolescents in different settings, shelter care, foster care, and group homes. I utilize CBT, Art, Games, and Narratives depending on the individual. Everyone is unique and one type of therapy may not work for another individual. A relationship is important to working with adolescents. Trying to navigate through the world as it is now can be extremely difficult. Couples counseling utilizing CBT, Art, Narratives, and homework creates knowledge and improves relationships. Honesty is important in working together for a better relationship. The mental health of each individual creates education and understanding. Setting boundaries with each other, learning to communicate, and utilizing active listening skills to be obtained. I am a Christian and give all the glory to God for bringing me to this place in my life. I feel I am guided in my work and focus on treating everyone with respect and dignity. I am culturally diverse in my approach and will not turn anyone away from doing counseling with me unless I feel I cannot help in any way. I believe God brings people together and if we are brought together, it must be a God thing. I am accepting of religions different than mine and consider myself spiritual rather than religious.

Do you or your spouse have some characteristics of being a little narcissistic and maybe arecontrolling and performance orientated? We should talk , you can lose so much. I have been a licensed Therapist in Idaho since 1993 with now a few years of professional work experience. Mostly, though I will claim that most of my experience is just simply navigating through life. Proverbs 16:9 says A man's (or woman's) heart plans his/her way, but the Lord directs his/her steps. I believe some of these "steps" may seem painful at times, but the Lord can transform our thoughts and those old destructive patterns of coping into a beautiful new way of looking at life. How we relate or attempt to simply love other people in our lives often started off as good traits but now seem to be causing us and others problems. I have been to a good bible school as will as received degrees from non-biblical intuitions. While I hope I can help you shed a different light on your tough life issues, I know I can speak truth with love with out fear of judgement. Good Job for being bold for even considering counseling at this point, ( it can't hurt) and might even save your relationships and save you from you. I do realize change is hard, but to continue in our old patterns is also very difficult and probably with higher destructive consequences I look forward to working with you. Greg

Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, marriage, family issues, or other emotional challenges, feel proud that you have begun your search to find the mental health care services in Tensed that work best for you in order to begin your personal journey towards emotional healing with a therapist.

Understanding the type of therapy you'd like to search for is crucial before finding a therapist or psychologist in Tensed. Perhaps you're interested in narrowing your search for a psychotherapist that can offer psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), talk therapy, provide group therapy, marriage and family therapy for individuals or couples, or couples therapy. Each type of therapy can offer various benefits and address or treat different disorders. If you're still unsure or are new to counseling in Tensed, feel free to contact the provider via email to find out which methods they practice.

It is also important to understand that mental health professionals in the United States are accredited to provide care, helping individuals and couples, with a variety of licenses. These include licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), and clinical psychologist or doctor of psychology (PsyD). Regardless of their licensure, they are trained to treat individuals and couples counseling, and sometimes children, in any type of therapy in the Tensed region and in the state of Idaho. Find a therapist under any of these distinctions and know that the sessions they offer can provide a safe place to heal.

A mental health counselor working through their own in-person therapy practice in Tensed or online may assist clients in improving healthy relationships, communication skills, working through life transitions, couples counseling, managing a mood disorder, improving coping skills, self help tips, offer life coaching, family therapy, or change in negative thinking patterns. A therapist may also provide a safe place and validation for clients experiencing emotional pain, or that simply want a psychological assessment. Verified providers can provide licensed marriage and couples therapy, tailor to individual needs, and create a therapeutic relationship as a National Certified Counselor.

There are all kinds of therapists working with clients today across the United States and in the greater Tensed area in different types of therapy, including:

  • CBT
  • DBT
  • Substance use therapy
  • Couples therapy

How does the cost of in-person counseling with a therapist compare to the cost of BetterHelp with a licensed Tensed therapist?

The average price of an in-person therapy session in the US is $100 to $200 per hour. These prices may be higher in Tensed due to a higher cost of living. How do I know if online counseling is right for my family in Tensed?

One of the potentially rewarding aspects of working with a Tensed therapist is the validation and active listening they can provide. Your friends and loved ones may also be available to listen, but you may feel that they may lack the skills to provide objective guidance. Counselors are trained to respond to various concerns, symptoms, and mental health conditions.

Tensed therapists in your city can support you toward a healthier emotional state, regardless of your mental health, life concerns, or healing needs. While supporting individuals in developing healthier habits, another good benefit of Tensed therapy is having an understanding, safe space with a non-judgmental party who can support you through challenging experiences.

Many people have sensitive topics that they may feel ashamed to discuss with their friends or partner. A Tensed therapist can help you confront these concerns and open up through unique methods of support. There are also many types of therapy, such as art therapy, where you may find you can express yourself through creativity instead of words with a psychotherapist.

With a lot of people in ID, therapists may be booked out with clients. Through the list of profiles above and others within BetterHelp's team, you may be able to find a psychologist within 24 to 48 hours. If you're searching to find a a nearby psychotherapist close to 83870 or the surrounding zip codes, consider others available through the BetterHelp site. No matter if you are seeking help from therapists in your area or beyond, online therapy can be a great option.

How should I prepare for my first therapy session with a Tensed counselor?

Before seeing your Tensed therapist, prep for your session by reading to understand the therapy process. You might write a list of questions you want to ask your psychotherapist, any emotional pain you may feel, and the ways in which you hope to improve. When you attend your session, let them know if you have any concerns about therapy or feel unsure about what to talk about. They may help guide you with open-ended therapeutic questions while offering mental health services. The first session will often serve as an intake to get to know you as a person and learn why you're attending therapy in Tensed.

Should I find a therapist or psychologist for therapy if I feel fine?

Some simply don't feel the need to see a psychologist. However, some people may avoid attending therapy due to stigma or preconceived notions of what therapy entails. Although psychologists often support people with mental health conditions, you do not need a diagnosis or condition to attend therapy. You can discuss grief, relationship concerns, stress, or life changes and ask for general feedback and advice from a therapist. A Tensed licensed clinical social worker may help you gain power over your life and emotions while you navigate day-to-day experiences.

Gaining a new perspective on yourself through various therapies might allow you to improve your self-esteem, work through relationships, and gain a better sense of your mental health goals. The success you may find through therapy with a Tensed counselor can be dependent on your process.

People may also attend therapy for specific motives, such as bullying, an autism diagnosis, a desire to learn mindfulness meditation, personality concerns, trouble with office workers, specific phobias, and many other principles that a counselor can help with.

Is mental health care and therapy with a therapist worth it?

Therapy with a licensed counselor is effective and has the power to change individuals' lives. Each client is at a different stage of their emotional healing journey in life, as each human can be unique in their personality, expression, skills, and goals. A psychologist can target various symptoms, experiences, and personalities to help you feel your best and put you on the path to healing. Unlike advice from a friend, family, or non-professional, a mental health therapist has an understanding of various disorders like ADHD and depression with many hours of experience in treating adults in their practice. For this reason, seeing an evidence based psychologist in Tensed, Idaho can be worth it. Over 41 million adults in the US attend therapy services each year, showing it's a popular option and is proven to be effective.

Tensed has many clinicians who practice person or client-centered individual therapy in-person and through online therapy to assist clients in their healing journey. If you opt into online therapy, you might also be able to meet with providers all over the United States and change therapists easily at any time. Many people struggling with anxiety and depression, substance abuse, body image issues, and more find therapists that are a good fit for them, feel supported, and gain further insight into their lives through internet-based therapy.

Do therapists judge you in therapy sessions during telehealth appointments?

The boundaries between you and a therapist are in place to help you and them regarding ethical concerns. Mental health professionals are held by ethical standards through the American Psychological Association (APA) and are not allowed to judge or harm their clients. If you are concerned about sharing details about yourself, feel free to withhold personal information. Their job in the therapeutic relationship is to create a safe place, help you gain a deeper understanding of your mental health, and support you. You might consider changing counselors if you don't feel safe or respected.
