I am a licensed marriage and family counselor with at least 10-years of experience working within mental health. I have been licensed since 2016 and providing clinical care to a number of families, couples, and individuals. There has been numerous types of complaints I have engaged with clients in treatment, though some of my specialties include relational distress (couples/families), self-esteem/confidence concerns, anger management, low moods, anxieties, parenting issues, disruptive/defiant behavioral issues, and adjustment/transitional challenges related to school/work/home. I have attained additional certification related to Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I often tailor my approaches to the needs of the client, and what allows you to have the best growth experience from treatment. Therefore, with that said, I often lean into the following dynamic treatment approaches: Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Mindfulness practices, Together Facing the Challenges, Motivational Interviewing, Prepare/Enrich marital work, and Structural Family Therapy. I am constantly honing my skill and adding more specializations and training to provide the most integrative and holistic treatment. My counseling style is warm, friendly, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I hope to learn about you and your life experiences so I can meet you where you are. When working with me, there is no stigmatization or negative labels. This growth is all your own, and there is no judgement in the circumstances that brought you. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life. Taking that first step towards a change is one that is so very empowering. 20 years offering treatment

Hello! My name is Tonya and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Originally from Chicago, I earned my MA from University of Chicago in 1998, and since then I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings including domestic violence shelters, a foster care/adoption agency, and a parenting organization as well as managing a private practice where I currently reside in North Carolina. I work with clients affected by depression, anxiety, life changes, trauma and parenting and relationship challenges. My approach to therapy is client-centered: clients are the experts on their lives and determine the direction and depth of therapy. Through a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, I draw on multiple treatment modalities to guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist clients in exploring relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to aid in discovering dysfunctional thought patterns leading to self-destructive behaviors and beliefs. Using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I support clients through developing skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation with the goal of moving clients towards a life involving the capacity for experiencing joy and freedom. Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy cycling, swimming, reading, knitting, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends.

My name is Sheila Davis. I have been married for 29 years and have four children. My youngest is 17 and still lives at home but the other three have moved out and are working and building a life for themselves. I was a stay at home mom for 13 years and when my youngest went to kindergarten, I went to college. I went to school for seven years straight, obtaining my bachelor's degree in psychology and my master's degree in counseling. Upon completion of my required supervision hours, I obtained my full license and opened up a private practice. I taught myself everything I needed to know about business, taxes, book keeping, billing and coding and was a one man show for the first year. By the end of my first year, my practice had grown so large, I was overwhelmed with client and brought on another counselor and receptionist. This past summer, I added a third counselor to our group. I will be selling my practice this January and will be moving with my family across the country to North Carolina, where I am in the process of obtaining my license. I am excited to have this opportunity to help supplement my income after I sell my business and get settled in my new home. I work with a wide variety of individuals with a wide variety of problems. I specialize in domestic violence and couples counseling, conflict resolution, grief counseling as well as so many other issues that many people face. I primarily approach with a CBT modality but am able to adjust to whatever the needs of each individual client.
