Laronne James
Hi there! My name is Laronne (la-Ron) and I have been involved in several aspects of the mental health field for fifteen years. I am a Texan and currently work in a suburb of Dallas. I have a partner of 17 years and a 33 year old son. I began my journey as a criminal justice addictions professional and worked with a variety of clients to include those with intellectual disabilities who had been charged with a variety of crimes as well as federal parolees who are having issues with substance abuse. I also facilitated a group for high school kids who had tested positive for (mostly) marijuana during random testing. I worked with people with autism and intellectual disabilities from 2004 through 2017 working closely with psychiatrists and performed as a team leader. While working on obtaining my license I worked in a psychiatric hospital in the intensive outpatient program during my internship. After obtaining my license I sought employment with a social service agency so that I could work with a wide variety of people with a wide range of concerns. I enjoy working with different cultures and subcultures and most often work with people with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, past trauma and those dealing through life changes such as grief, disability, and retirement, forced or otherwise. Although an existentialist at heart, my therapeutic approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I feel this approach works very well for a myriad of issues and is relatively short term and is an action therapy which provides working tools and is client driven.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in TX and WY. I hold certifications as a mediator for conflict resolution, family reconciliation and divorce & custody mediation. I am a certified premarital counselor and parenting counselor. I completed a Professional Training Program in Mind-Body Medicine. I hold certifications of Assisting Individuals in Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention. Therapy is a unique, very personalized, and professional service. We can discuss anything that is important to you under a non-judgmental environment. I create a safe and comfortable space for my clients who can be who he/she is. I love what I am doing as a therapist. You hear, "Find a job you love, you never work a day," That's me. I feel honored and have high respect for my clients who are open, vulnerable and willing to take steps what it takes to achieve goals, which leads to growth and enlightenment. I see beauty in everything and believe in strengths in clients. I want you to know that no matter what happened in the past or what is going on in your life, you have every right to be happy and you are going to find it. My approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Mindfulness-based and Spiritual. My view of therapy is finding “Truth, "about life, human nature, relationship, human condition, generational cycle, upbringing,...etc., which will help you understand them deeply, gain insight, and ultimately "set you free" from anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and/or stress, overall free from human suffering. Furthermore, therapy is nurturing “inner world,” recognizing you are not just “Thoughts,” “Emotions,” “Body,” but much more beyond, above, infinite, timeless, formless, and eternal “Being” with “Soul” and “Spirit” which is the essence of who you are, “Perfect,” “Complete,” “Whole,” “Original,” and “Enough." Therapy is the journey to realize the essence of who you are as a human being not as a human doing, practice being in the present moment to live not at the mercy of external world, eventually living with inner joy, freedom, integrity, and peace.
Donna Byxbe
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Texas. I have been practicing since 1995, most of this time in Community Mental Health Programs. I have worked with many issues of concern to my clients, ranging from serious mental illness to life choices. I have worked with adults, children, adolescents, elderly individuals, couples and groups. In 2005, I opened my private practice and kept it open full time until 2020. During the pandemic, my clientele reduced due to my choosing to begin telehealth sessions instead of face-to-face sessions. I am residing in a smaller city and most of the population is not comfortable with tele-health so I decided to continue at a reduced capacity as long as possible. In early 2021, I accepted the vaccine in an effort to revive my practice but became ill due to complications. I stopped practicing for approximately 3 months, until I could be sure that I was feeling well enough to provide my clients with the services they deserved. In December 2021, I tested positive with the virus and became very ill. I am now practicing through Better Help rather than begin my solo private practice again. I am competent in the use of Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Client-Centered, and Transpersonal therapies. I specifically focus on hypnotherapy, meditation, and inner child support in the Transpersonal therapies. Each of these therapies are used based on the treatment plan which is derived from the problems or concerns that the client defines as their choice for treatment and the goal they wish to reach. In working with couples, the goal is to enhance healing independently and interdependently. I believe that we are attracted to someone who fits like a lock and key with ourselves. This engages our personal issues so that our significant other becomes the rock upon which we break ourselves and then heal through positive communication techniques, compromise and negotiation. I believe that each person is unique and the path for growth of each person can only be determined by themselves, or jointly, for couples. My role in the support of my clients is to lend them my knowledge, feedback and guidance as they grow through the process of the journey. Each client has the right to self-determination and respect and can refuse any treatment suggestion without fear of consequences. I am honored to assist you in your choice of becoming the best version of yourself, and, if appropriate, as a union of two creating a separate identity while maintaining each individually.

Online therapy vs. in-person therapy in Texas
Online therapy and in-person therapy both connect you with a licensed professional, and the main difference is how you meet. In-person therapy takes place at an office and may involve travel and set appointment windows.
