Welcome! Are you looking for support? Want to make a change in your life? I'd love to join you on your journey. I’m passionate about helping people heal and achieve their personal goals, hopes, and dreams. To me, counseling is an individualized process where I get to know you for the unique person you are to best offer support, collaborative problem solving, and resources to help get you where you want to go. People find me to be warm, compassionate, sincere and non-judgmental. I approach my work with holistic wellness in mind and am sensitive to the cultural backgrounds/intersectional identities of those I have the privilege of working with. Because of my expertise and commitment to empowering others, you can build upon your own inherent ability to navigate tough circumstances and the challenges life throws our way in work with me. I received my Bachelor’s in Human Development & Social Justice and my Master’s of Social Work at Southern University at New Orleans. As an LCSW/LICSW, I'm licensed in Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Arizona with over 10 years experience in counseling. I use a variety of approaches including narrative therapy, existential therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR (not currently offering EMDR on BetterHelp), Gottman Method, Seeking Safety, solution focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, creative expressive therapies, play therapy, and more. I have experience working with all ages- from birth to elders. My experience includes training other counselors, work in counseling centers, in integrated healthcare, in major teaching/research universities, in hospice/homecare, in non-profits, in schools and more in rural and urban areas. Some specialty areas of mine include life transitions, spirituality, trauma, grief, loss, depression, anxiety, relationships, LGBTQ issues, marginalization, personal growth, among others. Outside of this work, I enjoy spending time in nature, growing food, being with my loved ones, creative projects, and exploring new places. Everyone deserves support and I look forward to connecting! My biggest hope for our work together is that you will achieve the healing and growth you desire to both feel better and build a deeply meaningful life,

As we go through life we face challenges, from these challenges we may experience pain and suffering. As this pain becomes stored within us it creates burdens that may sometimes be too heavy to bear. As I work with clients, to explore and resolve pain and trauma, I work to help them explore what is at the root. We learn to navigate the pain and trauma with self-compassion, and foster skills that help us engage in healthier ways with ourselves and others. Through self-reflection, processing emotions, and learning to respond rather than react the burden of pain is often reduced. I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensed in Utah & Indiana, who has been providing mental health and behavioral interventions since 2016, in a variety of populations including children, families, and women. I have worked with clients with a wide range of experiences and mental health concerns some of which include depression, anxiety, relationships issues, parenting issues, behavior concerns, ADHD, trauma, complex PTSD, and compulsory disorders. I take new virtual clients through BetterHelp, Grow Therapy, and my own private practice. My approach to therapy includes a client based approach through the use of validation, TF-CBT, CBT & ACT, somatic exercises, awareness, and motivational interviewing. I am a compassionate professional and my approach is mindfulness based and solution focused. I believe each client holds within them everything they need to resolve challenges, you are the expert on you and this is your journey. I provide a nonjudgmental space within which individuals and families can explore their options and approach individual issues. I am available M-Th 5am- 11am EST. I encourage email communication regarding the therapy process, your questions, and any concerns.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has worked over the course of 23 years in both inpatient Crisis and outpatient counseling settings with individuals, couples and families, ages 4 y.o. to 85 y.o. in Florida, Utah, Maine, Arizona, and several other countries. I am very versatile in my approach, tending to begin where you, the client are first, then tailoring my interventions from that point on. My specialty is in working with PTSD, i.e. abuse , and primary and secondary traumas. Relatedly, I am a Certified TIST [Trauma-informed Stabilization & Treatment] therapist, and have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, including the Flash Technique. I have also frequently worked with the Chronically Mentally Ill person, including those with Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Dissociative issues, and Depression, as well as those in various Life Transitional stages, Ex Pats, HSPs, and Developmental delays. I have also counseled a few individuals with up to middle stage Dementia (since newer Rx leaves them with tremendous adjustment issues) and their caregivers and parents struggling with parenting issues. My highest comfort level is with ages 18 and over in Individual sessions. My counseling style is ecclectic, with a warmth of engagement and focus on acceptance, positive regard, and trust-building, but can be highly solution-focused and brief as needed in the course of your therapy. I use a Motivational Interviewing technique to identify both what it is the client truly desires, as well as what they do not want, or are not motivated to achieve, and why. I then will shift to a more Strengths-based and Skill-building approach and the use of Cognitive-Behavioral and Humanistic interventions with a Family Systems and Developmental perspective on relational issues. I have done my own personal counseling work, and recognize it to be a powerful, yet courageous endeavor in a person's life. Good therapy can transform you and it is a gift to be able to engage in it. Every person is precious, and deserving of respect, kindness, and a place to be fully heard, accepted, and a place to develop their best selves in a healing, compassionate environment. I consider my work as a therapist to be a sacred trust, a privilege, a calling, and part of my own journey as a fellow human being. Working with you will be an honor to help you on your very unique path toward a healthier you, and in the style you determine to be the most helpful and supportive.
