Many years of working as an in-home, multicultural, inner-city therapist and in a Residential Treatment Program for Emotionally Disturbed Children before transitioning to Adults with Developmental Disabilities have provided me with a strong foundation to address a wide variety of clinical issues. My theoretical methods is founded first and foremost in developmental psychology utilizing many other theoretical approaches such as CBT, DBT, Performance psychology, solution focused etc. My passion for psychology began as a professional athlete and then in undergraduate school at the University of Maine at Farmington as an Alpine ski coach and through my years as a professional ski coach. I have enjoyed being a therapist for the past 7 years, helping clients with all mental health difficulties. I live a vastly fulfilling life with my family of a wife, 6 kids, 4 cats, and my loving Yorkie named Reggie. I am extensively qualified in using CBT and Gottman couples therapy. I will help you in our sessions to overcome insecurities and develop the skills you need to feel secure, prepared, and proud. You will feel better as a person and learn real solutions for what you need to do. You’ll gain 1) coping tools - including developing better habits, routines, and self care strategies, 2) relationship tools - including improving conversation, being able to comfortably navigate conflict, learning how to avoid relationship-ruining habits, and promoting a more positive perspective, and 3) confidence building tools - including growing a more confident mindset, doing favorite hobbies, performing good mental health activities, and having a future plan for both the short term and long term to live a satisfying, secure life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Idaho and in South Dakota. I have worked as a Counselor since 2015. I completed my Masters of Science in Mental health Counseling with Walden University. I have operated a private practice for the past 6 years that is person-centered in approach with Client therapy. My therapy style is seeing a person suffering from a disorder / issue not seeing the person as the disorder. I use a mix of techniques when working with Clients in order to create the best fit for each individual's personal growth. I have worked with adults with anxiety, depression, grief and addiction and helped them in coping with life changing transitions. I don't take credit for Client growth, since it takes a lot of courage from a Client to make changes when needed. I see myself as a helper / teacher of skills / objective entity for feedback in providing guidance for Client growth. I do what I can to help the Client learn how to become the change they want to be. I have experience in working with individuals, couples & families. I work with adults suffering from depression, mood disorders, anxiety, addiction and substance use, grief, and relationship issues. I work with Clients to educate on the use of healthy coping skills for anger management, self-esteem building, self-confidence improvement and every day issues. I use techniques form Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative therapy, Psycho-educational, Matrix, and Solution-focused therapy.

So much in life tears us down and tells us 'we're doing it wrong.' We get in the way of ourselves, undermining our own best efforts. Let's face it; we can be our best enemies sometimes. We're each in the middle of our own lives and heaven knows we could all use someone looking in from time to time to help us see what we're missing. We're not meant to go it alone. You and I both know it just doesn't work that way. It takes each of us get through this life together. Those clients who walk through my door aren't broken, and so don't need fixing. All that's usually happened is they've miss-placed their keys. So we go looking for them, finding those doors they've closed, don't remember locking, or maybe are too afraid to open. I would love to help you see the good you already do. Let's see if I can assist in resolving any concerns you might now have. By meeting, talking and getting things figured out, I know we can do anything. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you.
