40 years offering treatment

Hi, I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the mental health field for the last 40 years. The first part of my career was in in Virginia working as an emergency mental health therapist in a community mental health clinic. I moved to North Carolina 30 years ago. For 16 years I worked as a mental health therapist in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Then I went to work for the military as a mental health therapist working with the Marines and Navy servicemembers for the last 14 years. I also had a part time private practice for 23 years where I primarily worked with couples who were working on their relationship. I did not have much opportunity in my full time job to work with couples which is my passion. I was able to meet with couples in the evening to help them resolve their conflicts and develop positive coping skills as a couple. I am semi-retired and living in Florida now. I love being close to family and the beach. I love working with people to help them achieve their goals. My style is to help you develop the goals you want to change and give you the tools to achieve that goal. It is my privilege and honor to help those who are seeking help for themselves. I see my self as an integrative therapist who utilizes many tools to help my clients. I check my messages several times a day seven days a week and will get back to you within 24 hours or less.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of clinical experience supporting individuals and couples through life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and care. My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with self-understanding and grows through thoughtful, collaborative exploration. I understand that exploring unfamiliar or uncomfortable parts of ourselves can feel daunting. In therapy, I aim to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can safely examine patterns, behaviors, and experiences that may no longer be you. Together, this awareness becomes the foundation for developing new perspectives, healthier coping strategies, and lasting growth. My clinical work is informed by evidenced-based modalities, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), in which I am certified, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to include CBT for Insomnia, Depression, and Anxiety. I integrate these approaches thoughtfully to meet your unique needs, whether addressing trauma, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or life transitions. I approaches therapy as a collaborative partnership—one that honors your pace, values, and goals. My goal is to offer a warm, thoughtful, and grounded environment that helps you feel supported. I have a strong passion for working with couples and individuals navigating trauma, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.
