Have you been living the same script with different cast members? Do you want to overcome life's most complicating situations? Are you on a quest to get to know yourself better? Do you want to make your wildest dreams a reality? I am a thirty-something Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am bicoastal- residing in Los Angeles for the last few months; however, my roots are on the East Coast. I am licensed to provide therapy to those residing in Maryland and the District of Columbia. I specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy and over the last 5+ years, I have worked with adults and teens who have overcome various traumas including identity/self-esteem, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, and relational issues. Life's most precious gifts are often on the other side of our comfort zone. How do I know? Because therapy changed MY life! Several years ago, after a series of life-changing events, my mental health suffered drastically. I put it off at first but once I sought my own help, it was like a light came on. I started seeing things in a completely new way. So much so that I decided to help others. Finding the right therapist is the first step to changing your life course and I am pleased to know that you are taking these important steps. I look forward to engaging with you if you have an interest. Let's start healing!

Laurie Mombay
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in Maryland with nearly 20 years experience providing counseling in a variety of settings. I have helped many people struggling with issues like depression, anxiety, anger management, mood disorders and trauma. I have a Master's Degree from Loyola College in Pastoral Counseling, which informs my approach, however most of my professional work has been in secular settings, including outpatient, employee assistance programs, and criminal justice (victim advocacy and corrections). My counseling style is compassionate and non-judgmental, but I will also challenge and encourage you as you work towards change. I believe in empowering my clients by giving them the tools and skills they seek to live a healthier and more satisfying life. I think that insight is important but more critical is what you do with that insight once gained. My primary approach is cognitive-behavioral and I have a lot of experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, working with clients who have difficulties managing their mood and behavior. I regularly work with people who have suffered tremendous trauma in their lives and enjoy helping them find a path to recovery. I went into the counseling field because I love listening to peoples' stories and helping them make sense of them. I stayed in the counseling field because I have a passion for providing a safe and nurturing space within which to encourage people to take those stories and experiences and create a life worth living. I look forward to hearing your story and helping you create your best life!
