Lori Miller
I’ve spent my life confined to a wheelchair, so I believe I have a unique understanding of just how challenging life can be and the strength it takes to ask for help. Whatever your struggles, I believe the first step to helping you overcome them is to build a connection with you based on commonly shared thoughts, feelings, and actions impacting how we feel, how we relate to others, and how we achieve our goals. Once you and I have identified any unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and actions standing in your way, we will work together on a plan to help you succeed by giving you the skills, confidence, and belief that your emotional well-being doesn’t depend on others or events you can’t control. While pursuing my Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of West Florida and licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), I have gained 12 + years of clinical experience helping adults, teens, children, and families heal from a variety of emotional wounds to include: PTSD, grief and loss, intimate partner violence, physical, sexual, emotional abuse, and neglect. I have worked with veterans, people dealing with substance dependence, homelessness, and chronic health problems. In sum, my approach is not to make you relive the past, but to help you recognize--and ultimately, change--the core hurtful beliefs and actions fueling your current anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem and relationship conflicts. I am ready to listen when you share, sit in silence when you need it, and best of all, cheer on your successes!
Laronne James
Hi there! My name is Laronne (la-Ron) and I have been involved in several aspects of the mental health field for fifteen years. I am a Texan and currently work in a suburb of Dallas. I have a partner of 17 years and a 33 year old son. I began my journey as a criminal justice addictions professional and worked with a variety of clients to include those with intellectual disabilities who had been charged with a variety of crimes as well as federal parolees who are having issues with substance abuse. I also facilitated a group for high school kids who had tested positive for (mostly) marijuana during random testing. I worked with people with autism and intellectual disabilities from 2004 through 2017 working closely with psychiatrists and performed as a team leader. While working on obtaining my license I worked in a psychiatric hospital in the intensive outpatient program during my internship. After obtaining my license I sought employment with a social service agency so that I could work with a wide variety of people with a wide range of concerns. I enjoy working with different cultures and subcultures and most often work with people with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, past trauma and those dealing through life changes such as grief, disability, and retirement, forced or otherwise. Although an existentialist at heart, my therapeutic approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I feel this approach works very well for a myriad of issues and is relatively short term and is an action therapy which provides working tools and is client driven.

Cynthia Mickel
I am Leeann Mickel, I have a masters degree in educational psychology with an emphasis on community counseling. I have my LPC, licensed professional counselor Masters level. I also have an LC DC licensed chemical dependency counselor. I have worked 20 + years in the field of service. I have had great success with clients who have experienced significant trauma. I have been Clinical Supervisor for a substance abuse residential setting. I am currently Clinical Director for the agency with whom I am employed at this time. I believe it to be my mission helping and serving. My approach is client centered we start where you are. I am very laid-back and personable, I have forever been told how easy it is to talk to me, even prior to my chosen career! That’s a plus when you’re a therapist! I have some clients who simply need an ear and guidance. Others are eager to get to the cause of what prompted them to reach out. Either is great. I understand that some people need to vent and receive professional advice. I tell all of my clients you have inside you now everything you need to heal and progress. My job is to guide you on the journey in this process of self discovery and healing. I also tell my clients that I will work just as hard as you in doing this, but I will never work harder. This would cause more harm by handicapping them if others around never allow my clients to learn through experience, and rob my client of demonstrating to themselves the opportunity to see how capable they actually are. I have worked with many populations: adolescents, adults with variety of disorders/conditions. Such as mental health diagnosis like depression, bi polar, anxiety, and PTSD. For the last six years I have led our adolescent program. I'm very familiar with self harming behaviors, and have a knack of being able to reach them and slowly process into self love. I also have extensive experience with grief which may look different and feel different among different clients. Even those who believe that have mourned and grieved, but truly have not. I look forward to working with you and helping you along your specific path. My schedule is very flexible, as a I only work from home, virtually/remote. During therapy it will be common to give 'experiments' following a session. The purpose for this is taking from our sessions and applying what you learn to your 'real life' outside of one session weekly for an hour.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or uncertain about how to move forward. Reaching out for support can feel difficult, but it is also a courageous first step toward healing and growth. I earned my Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and my Master’s degree in Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. I bring more than 18 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I work with individuals facing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, life transitions, motivation concerns, and substance use recovery. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and empowering. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you build on your strengths, gain clarity, and create a more meaningful and fulfilling future. My professional experience extends beyond the counseling office and includes serving as an LPC mentor, graduate counseling student mentor, and adjunct professor. I have also held national leadership roles, collaborated with professionals in international corporate settings, and served as a Peace Corps (PC) volunteer in both Malawi and Mexico. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for diverse cultures, resilience, and the power of human connection. Outside of counseling, I enjoy hiking, biking, fencing, and studying literature and poetry. My training as a competitive fencer, including preparation for the 1996 Olympic Games, continues to shape my values of discipline, perseverance, and lifelong growth. Whether you are navigating a difficult season of life or seeking greater self-understanding, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, resilience, and lasting positive change.

Online therapy and in-person therapy both connect you with a licensed professional, and the main difference is how you meet.
