Welcome! My name is Ally Dagbjartsdottir and I'm so excited for the opportunity to work with you. Therapy is a collaboration, one in which we partner to find ways to help you cope with life's challenges, setbacks, questions, etc. I would love to be the person to help you be the best version of yourself. Therapy is for everyone and anyone and as a social worker, my background enables me to look at things from multiple perspectives. I have worked with children and families for 13 years, 8 of which I have been a therapist. My specialty is working with children, adolescents, and families with trauma backgrounds. I love working with teenagers and young adults as well as parents, but really I just love that one on one partnership that takes place in the therapeutic relationship. I am a firm believer in the strengths perspective. You have what it takes within you; let me help you find your inner voice and together we can find creative solutions to any multitude of issues. You have taken the first step and that is brave. I look forward to hearing from you!

Antoinette Gooden
Hello, Welcome to the Better Help Community. My name is Antoinette, and I am a licensed professional counselor in Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, South Dakota, and Virginia. I have been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. I have worked with individuals experiencing a variety of issues including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, marital concerns, women issues, workplace stressors, family conflict, and issues related to military families. I would describe my approach as goal-oriented, and client-centered. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Both modalities are hands-on, practical approaches to problem-solving. CBT treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns and or behaviors. The goals are to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind difficult situations, and so change the way one feels. This helps people identify unhelpful ways of thinking as they learn better ways of coping with life's stressors. It would be my privilege to become a partner in your journey while helping you to figure out your goals. I will provide a supportive and understanding environment that offers a clear direction with specific strategies to assist with your current stressors. I look forward to helping/serving you!

I have been a therapist for 23 years and hold clinical licenses in Kansas and Texas. I use a dynamic approach to positive psychology for living your best life. In therapy, for a client to improve, it’s important that the therapist and client connect. Communication is at the core of this partnership and is integral in positively producing results and successful treatment outcomes. My practice prioritizes healthy connections with clients and I pride myself on breaking communication barriers with a diverse range of clientele. My experience and background support identifying and relating to a myriad of challenges and obstacles that many people - including myself - have faced. Throughout my career, I’ve devoted my time to learning to identify clients’ unique struggles and the strategies that work to get them back on track to achieving their goals and finding joy in their daily life. I take the time to present the techniques I use in a way that’s easily understandable and applicable in order to create change in your life. Taking the first step towards therapy is difficult and can make anyone feel vulnerable. I’m ready to take this first step in partnership with you, at a pace that feels comfortable. I’m currently seeing clients both in-office and online. Choose the setting that works best for you, and let’s start down the path of removing the roadblocks and regaining control.

My belief in the resilience of the human spirit inspired me to become a professional counselor 20 years ago. I have clinical experience in every level of behavioral healthcare and I have advanced training and practice in understanding how the early experience of trauma impacts a developing child’s brain. I am motivated by the power of trauma sensitive treatment to assist my clients in growth and healing. My general approach to therapy is one of a partnership of experts. No one has more expertise than you do on your own experience. I have training and expertise that I can offer to hopefully deepen your understanding, provide new perspectives, and facilitate change. Most importantly, it's my privilege and commitment to provide an environment of unconditional acceptance and respect for your thoughts and values. I am comfortable with any pace of therapy and I believe that I should be pushing you a little bit harder than you are pushing yourself—pushing you forward, never pushing you down. I have extensive experience in working with families formed from adoption and foster care. I am affirming of all sexual and gender identities, all faiths and all religions. I utilize several clinical modalities including Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I enjoy counseling with adults, couples, families, and children. I have extensive experience in crisis intervention and crisis stabilization and am comfortable supporting individuals with symptoms related to depression, anxiety, trauma, anger management, difficulty in relationships, parenting, career/employment stress, substance use and stress management. I am passionate about connecting with vulnerable individuals in our community to offer hope and eliminating the stigma of illness and addiction.

Rachel Rippel
Welcome! My name is Rachel and I am happy that you are here seeking guidance on your journey in life! Counseling is a great resource with a variety of tools that can help with a wide array of concerns. I congratulate you and your show of courage in taking this first step! I urge you to take some time to find the Counselor that is the right fit for you as we do not come 'one size fits all.' I will tell you a little bit about myself to help you decide: With a Master's Degree in Community Counseling, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri (License #2021020473), a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Kansas (License #LCPC 03929) and have also held School Counseling Credentials. I have worked in public school systems and private practice allowing me to view situations from a multitude of perspectives. I have worked with children, teens, young adults, and adults on concerns such as behavior issues, stress, anxiety, relationships, and motivation. I tend to focus on the here-and-now and use techniques that are centered around you. I am here to help guide. I do offer all modes of communication - Live Video, Live Phone, Live Messaging (you schedule a Live Session and we message back and forth within that time frame ), and Messaging (responses are not in real time and may take anywhere from a few minutes to hours/days depending on day of week). I do require that all new members start with 1 Initial Live Video Session so I can match the name to the face, verify information, and go over some basics. After that, all other sessions may be any combination of the above listed modes. I pray you find the positive reassurances you are looking for on this journey! If you believe I may be the right fit, I look forward to hearing from you! FYI: In terms of scheduling, I offer Live Sessions at times that accommodate the busy lives of my clients and of myself and my family. The earliest Live Session Appointments I have available begin at 9:00 PM. I know the late times are not a fit for everyone so I want to make sure this is known right from the start so there are no surprises.
