Jillian Sharp
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker who lives in Denver. I spend my free time skiing, hanging with my people, or reading a good book! My mission for providing therapy is simple; I believe in every person's ability to experience healing, growth, and the ability to thrive amidst the challenges of life. I am a strong believer that healing happens through relationship, and I greatly value the therapeutic relationship in my work. During the incredibly isolating experience of the pandemic, therapy offers an open space to connect deeply with others and to journey together as we navigate the challenges and explore areas that need to be healed. I provide supportive, relational, and strengths-based therapy that facilitates healing and growth. One of my greatest strengths in therapy is that I’m someone who sees things from different perspectives. When it comes to therapy, gaining different perspectives is essential to growth. I believe that more empathy and compassion towards ourselves and others can change how we experience with the world around us. My expertise in counseling is in issues related to grief/loss, trauma, anxiety and depression, and relationships, but I am happy to journey alongside you and navigate your healing process with you.

I enjoy working with individuals who are seeking a real change in their life. Sometimes you are "tired of the rut I am in" or feeling that "something needs to change..I do not want to feel like this anymore." Sometimes you are struggling with "old issues" and sometimes it is more current stresses like anxiety, relationships, or just do not know what to do next; I believe when you are ready to make a change, having a supportive push can really work! I have been a practicing social worker since 1985. I have worked in many areas of practice including active duty military members and families, VA hospitals, and community mental health. I currently specialize in treating trauma of all kinds, depression, anxiety, women’s issues and life transitions. I enjoy supporting people seeking positive life changes. I am a firm believer in real change being very possible. For me, therapy is a support system offering a course of treatment. I usually work with a client for 8 to 10 sessions with a goal of active change and renewed energy and confidence. Give therapy a chance...give me a call.

I am a couples and marriage and substance use counselor licensed in Colorado and Wyoming with 10 years of experience in the field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life challenges, and substance use. I will strive to connect and understand you through developing a strong therapeutic relationship, which I believe is of the utmost importance for healing and recovery. My goal is to work to inspire you to develop new approaches and solutions to address issues in your complex life. Working from the belief you have the innate ability to heal yourself, I treat the therapeutic process as an opportunity for you to uncover the tools that will support your personal growth. I understand your know yourself best, therefore your concerns and goals form the basis for counseling strategies as I act as a guide to help you find your strengths, and a coach to help further develop them. While I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, I combine tenets of client-centered, dialectical behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, solution focused, and motivational interviewing. I understand it takes courage to reach out and ask for support when you are feeling alone. If you're ready to take that step, I look forward to working with you on your journey.

Taking the first step to asking for help can sometimes be the biggest hurdle to addressing our challenges in life. I believe that after building relationships with people that we are able to talk through, explore and find solutions to challenges in life. The answer is most often in you, but coming to see a neutral person who doesn't have a bias, we can find what works for us and break through unhealthy cycles to establish health and well being. I make no guarantees, but my job is to care, first and then help you figure things out.
