Greetings! I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado for the past 20+ years. I earned a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver in 1996 and have over 27 years of counseling experience. I worked in a variety of clinical settings with a diverse population dealing with many different conditions and difficulties before establishing my private practice in in 2008. My experience includes working with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, stress management and relationship issues. My belief is that all humans have the innate potential to heal, change and grow. But sometimes knowing where and how to begin can be a challenge. There is an intricate mind/body connection and often people experience physical manifestations from mental/emotional stress and dis-ease. My objective is to help bring back balance and harmony to the whole person mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. My approach is collaborative, integrative, and holistic. I want to partner with you to find the solutions to whatever issues bring you to therapy at this time. I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, goals, and desired outcomes. I will work to help you recognize and enhance your strengths as well as help you develop skills to navigate life with more resilience and flexibility to enhance the quality and experience of your life. My approach is informed by Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Energy Psychology including Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Change is Inevitable~ Growth is Intentional~

I have been working in the mental health field for the last 27 years in which I have experience in several different genres of clientele. I have worked in both inpatient care and outpatient services. These services have included family systems, individual and family counseling, domestic violence, chemical addiction-gambling addictions, and severe mental health needs. Currently, I am serving in a correctional setting with incarcerated offenders with a specialized program for Juveniles Convicted as Adults Program assisting the offender to transfer from a correctional setting after serving at least 25 years of their sentence. To assist those to understand my clinical approach to counseling, I take a client-centered, solution-focused approached to counseling. By using both cognitive-behavioral and logotherapy techniques, I assist those who chose to engage in therapy to understand the drivers to their behaviors and addressing purpose and meaning in their lives. To understand Logotherapy, it is a school of psychology and a philosophy based on the idea that we are strongly motivated to live purposefully and meaningfully, and that we find meaning in life as a result of responding authentically and humanely (i.e. meaningfully) to life's challenges. By using Logotherapy and understanding our belief systems we can better understand how we can make changes to our thoughts, feelings, and actions.

I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in the states of Colorado and California with over 25 years of experience working with clients ranging in development from young children to the elderly. I have worked with individuals struggling with anxiety and depression, with couples who had reached an impasse in their communication and those experiencing parenting problems. I understand the dynamics of substance abuse and have helped guide individuals towards treatment. I also have extensive experience with crisis intervention and helping families move from being problem-focused to becoming solution-focused. My approach to therapy is strongly rooted in exploring the family of origin and how the family we come from is so instrumental in shaping our beliefs and behaviors, which sometimes do not serve us. I believe that with an understanding of how family dynamics shape one’s sense of self, comes empowerment, which then enables an individual to recognize maladaptive thought processes and change the way they think about themselves, their choices and their subsequent behaviors. What I bring to the table is a strong, empathetic nature and the ability to listen intently and patiently. I possess an innate ability to conceptualize what you tell me in a way that brings a deeper understanding. You've taken the first step towards seeking a happier and more fulfilling life by reaching out for support. I'll be here each step of the way to guide you in your journey. I look forward to working with you!
