Is the schedule flexible or is it the same time every week?

I currently have two per diem jobs. I have a set schedule, but will pick up more hours during the week if I can. My schedule is unpredictable at times

Hello smverry! That's a great question! It sounds like you will have a lot on your plate with balancing two jobs and picking up extra hours, which I imagine could compound the stress of the concerns that are leading you to consider counseling. I am glad that you are still choosing to prioritize your mental health by engaging with counseling, and planning ahead to address potential barriers, such as scheduling.

Fortunately, Betterhelp offers many ways to communicate, including asynchronous messaging, as well as live sessions via chat, phone, or video that can vary in length from 30 to 50 minutes. While some people prefer the consistency of having a set day and time for their therapy session each week, others need the flexibility of being able to meet with their counselor on a different day and time from week to week. One of the great features of Betterhelp is the ability to check the schedule of the counselor you are working with and choose a day and time that fits your needs for setting up live sessions. The flexibility of scheduling will also vary amongst providers, with respect to which days and times are available, and how much availability they have each week.

I have been pleased to offer the subscribers working with me a flexible schedule and the option to 'self-schedule' live chat, phone, or video sessions each week, with daytime, evening and weekend hours. I have also been able to accommodate some requests for scheduled sessions outside of my posted hours based on subscribers' needs and my availability, even having been able to offer a same-day session for a subscriber who needed help that day. It can be really challenging to juggle an unpredictable schedule, so the option to communicate via asynchronous messaging in between sessions is a great way to stay connected to the counselor you are working with. This can be used for both scheduling and to discuss treatment issues. The frequency of communication via asynchronous messaging might vary between providers. I check messages once or twice a day and respond as quickly as I can. Once again, I want to congratulate you for taking an important step toward mental wellness and addressing the concerns that lead you to seek help.
